Dear Friends, Its me to update you on the excing developments in our God-given assignments this year. I apologize for the lateness of this update but its been a roller-coaster year. One of much prayer in our concern for Jessica, having asthma related coughing bouts that went on for weeks, bronchial pneumonia and a fairly hecc schedule. God in His grace has carried us thru. Thank you for everyones prayers. It has been a year of building into leaders lives and moving into a whole new circle of leaders to train. New partnerships evolved and were working with our mothership, IMD Internaonal that has opened numerous possibilies to go to places we have been praying about, but these leaders are under different networks. I believe this in a reflecon of God that we work in unity as organizaons and churches. This is already reflected in the different teaching teams that come across from the USA to help us teach in different sengs. 15 - 26 January 2019 Training Leaders in Ndugunetwork, Pioneer Community Network and Timothy Training Iniave (TTI) in Kenya. In January we joined with our new President Norm Seeley and Phil Largent in Kenya to train the Ndugu network that Norm had started from leaders that met at a strategic conference some years back in Bangkok, Thailand. These men mostly are trainers of trainers and were about 12 in number. We trained three networks of leaders and our focus, …..THE HEART. We started in Nairobi with the Ndugu leaders, moved to Eldoret and worked with leaders from Pastor Daniel Chelagats network and then back to Nairobi to work with Timothy Training Iniave (TTI). Partnering with TTI has opened doors to many areas. Oſten we focus on two main areas in developing leaders. 1) The head (knowledge) and 2)the Hands (skills), but we have sensed God wanng us to look into a deeper area, 3) The Heart (Inmacy with God). This is the area of greatest failure. Weve all know men of God who have great knowledge of scripture and great skill in guid- ing the church when suddenly we see a moral fall that is totally unexpected. They havent guarded their hearts. They have allowed things to come in thats become a stumbling block to them. Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it flow the issues of life-Proverbs 4:23. God lead Phil Largent to start developing a curriculum with Building the Inner Manat its core. Dear Friends, It’s time to update you on the exciting developments in our God-given assignments this year. I apologize for the lateness of this update but it’s been a roller-coaster year. One of much prayer in our concern for Jessica, having asthma related coughing bouts that went on for weeks, bronchial pneumonia and a fairly hectic schedule. God in His grace has carried us thru. Thank you for everyone’s prayers. It has been a year of building into leaders lives and moving into a whole new circle of leaders to train. New partnerships evolved and we’re working with our mothership, IMD International that has opened numerous possibilities to go to places we have been praying about, but these leaders are under different networks. I believe this in a reflection of God that we work in unity as organizations and churches. This is already reflected in the different teaching teams that come across from the USA to help us teach in different settings.

15 - 26 January 2019

Training Leaders in ‘Ndugu’ network, Pioneer Community Network and Timothy Training Initiative (TTI) in Kenya. In January we joined with our new President Norm Seeley and Phil Largent in Kenya to train the Ndugu network that Norm had started from leaders that met at a strategic conference some years back in Bangkok, Thailand. These men mostly are trainers of trainers and were about 12 in number. We trained three networks of leaders and our focus,…..THE HEART. We started in Nairobi with the Ndugu leaders, moved to Eldoret and worked with leaders from Pastor Daniel Chelagat’s network and then back to Nairobi to work with Timothy Training Initiative (TTI).

Partnering with TTI has opened doors to many areas. Often we focus on two main areas in developing leaders. 1) The head (knowledge) and 2)the Hands (skills), but we have sensed God wanting us to look into a deeper area, 3) The Heart (Intimacy with God). This is the area of greatest failure. We’ve all know men of God who have great knowledge of scripture and great skill in guid-ing the church when suddenly we see a moral fall that is totally unexpected. They haven’t guarded their hearts. They have allowed things to come in that’s become a stumbling block

to them. ‘Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it flow the issues of life’ -Proverbs 4:23.

God lead Phil Largent to start developing a curriculum with

‘Building the Inner Man’

at it’s core.

It has various satellite teachings like Stewardship, Hearing from God, etc.

Let me illustrate with the diagram

The bigger circle in the middle is representative of various teachings that God wishes to use to build a strong Christ-like Inner

Man. The circles that intercept the larger circles reinforce what has been taught in the core teaching of Building the Inner

Man. It has been used to great effect in India and certain parts of Africa. Some of the men in the Ndugu Network are already

teaching the material in various provinces in their respective countries and some have crossed into others countries to teach

‘Building the Inner Man’.

29 January - 4 February 2019

IMD International President and Board Member visit Mokopane.

Norm and Christie Seeley and Carl Graham came

to visit and check out the operation in Mo-

kopane. Norm is our new President and so it

was a great pleasure to have him, Christie and

Carl join us in our ministry experience here.

They visited the school and met the staff. Chris-

tie taught the teachers on ‘Faithfulness to

Fruitfulness’ during their regular staff meeting

and Norm and Carl came and ministered on a

few of the farms.

Finally we had a board meeting to introduce them to our board members. It was a joy-

ful meeting and everyone was pleased with the outcomes of introductions and issues

discussed.

8 - 10 March 2019

Men’s Farm Indaba (conference) - South Africa

About 60 farm workers from the different farms where we minister attended this conference. The teaching and training was

specifically aimed at the men in helping them grow in their leadership capacity. I think they were greatly encouraged.

Ds. Andre from NGKerk Naboomspruit took the initiative in this and Pst. Johannes assisted.

8 - 20 May 2019

Mini-Bible School—Chipungu Village, ZAMBIA

We held our annual Mini-Bible school in Zambia in Chipungu, a village near to the Congo border. We met with about 57 lead-

ers coming from Congo(21) and leaders from three provinces in Zambia.(36) Central,

Northern and Lua Pula provinces.

Many more could have come from Congo and Zambia, but transport costs become

prohibitive. It was a great encouragement to see beloved pastors who have faithfully

attended training sessions for years. They go back

faithfully; pastoring their churches, making disciples

and planting churches.

God has been amazing!

In 2005 we came to Puta and planted two churches.

One died, but the other one, under Gershom Kapiso’s

leadership has grown and today there are about 12 churches. The men from Puta Baptist

under the leadership of the Holy Spirit went and planted a church in the Katanga Province

of Congo just across the border where Willie became the leader. Willie invited David Kiluba

as more churches were planted. We are excited in what God is doing. Henry visits them

from time to time to build them up.

We were joined by pastors Stan Cruise and Tim Farmer. Stan taught numerous Train and Multiply booklets while Tim taught on of the Inner Man book on Stewardship written by Bill Steward. It is a hallmark teaching of IMD Intl and all the teachings were well received. After 5 days of teaching and fellowship we headed home. Assignment complete until next year. Please keep the leaders and churches in Katanga Province, Congo and those in Zambia in your prayers.

31 May - 2 June 2019 First City Baptist Church, East London—Mission Conference I was invited to return to First City Baptist Church in East London to speak on missions and share a little about our work in IMD Africa. It was great to see these folks again and they do everything in their power to keep trusting God to support numerous missionaries. Please pray for 1st City Baptist as they’re going thru transitions.

Friday, 30 June Addressed the kids at kids zone and later the youth. Shared age appropriately, I hope, but it was a lot of fun sharing about intercession and sharing testimonies of God’s faithfulness over the years. Saturday, 01 June Morning: Breakfast at FCBC. Another missionary will be giving a talk

at this breakfast. It was very good but I can’t name where they work and who they are. They’re doing a great job.

Sunday, 02 June Preached at the Sunday morning service showing some power points and a basic missions mes-sage to a very missions minded church sharing some of our story where God has moved in differ-ent countries. It was good to give report back. Really grateful for the opportunity to share. I was hosted by Andrew and Daleen Burger. Wonderful hosts. Thank you so much for your kindness. Special thanks to Elijah and the missions team for going to great lengths to make me feel welcome.

7 - 16 June 2019

Kentucky and Oakbrook, NC Teams ministers in SA By this time a busy schedule is making us gasp for air. Jeni is busy administrating the school and mission while doing studies and we’re working thru Jessica’s chemo treatment, but God’s Grace has kept us. Elizabeth and Anne Elizabeth at Maruda Christian School

Elizabeth Estes and her niece Anne Elizabeth, her niece, arrived on the 7th to help at Maruda Christian School. It’s Elizabeth Anne’s first trip. We had a great time getting to know this lovely young lady. Both she and Elizabeth worked at our school.

Anne Elizabeth is doing her final year at school in Kentucky, USA and brought with

her skills, energy and focus that had our learners intrigued, entertained and encouraged in the Lord.

Between teaching them new dances, arts and crafts, and the importance of basic life skills from her Girls Guides toolbox, she

was a role model to our young learners in

the way that she conducted herself and

poured everything into each lesson.

School Graduates Reunion @ the L.A.N.D.

Her excitement and confidence was conta-

gious as she facilitated the adventure

based learning activities at the graduate’s

reunion camp we hosted at the Land.

(Leadership Academy for New Direction).

The graduates were excited to meet up with Elizabeth again and we got to hear some of their challenges in high school. Our first graduate from Foundation Phase, Boitumelo, matriculated last year. She ‘graduated’ from our school when we were only going up until grade 3. Since then, we exit our learners in the Intermediate Phase- Gr 7, but she was one of our first in-takes. The rest of the Kentucky and Oakbrook Team joined us that same day and some were able to catch the tail-end of the reunion and give their input as well.

Staff Training at Maruda Christian School

Elizabeth also had an opportunity to give the staff input and do interventions and lessons with the learners at the school dai-

ly. This will always be a highlight for the school as they eagerly await her return. She has seen the school grow up from it’s

inception, and has mostly come to minister every year since then.

Building Project

When the rest of the team arrived a week later, the men immediately

climbed on our roof and discussed their plan of action to replace it

in the short time they had available. It was going to be a challenge,

but we were so blessed by the churches generous gesture to tackle

this project. The roof had been leaking for years, and it was time….

What an amazing feat it was to complete the job. Thank you so much

to Charles and Pst Chris for motivating this project.

Vacational Bible School

The girls did a sterling job of running the three VBS’s in Masodi and

Vaaltyn. It was a real team effort and a testimony to the body of

Christ working together to reach these precious children. Church

members from Living Hope Fellowship conducted a fund raiser for the

hotdogs and coldrinks, volunteers from Masodi Baptist youth, Maru-

da school teachers, Mokopane Baptist Church and Mahwelereng Bap-

tist Youth joined us to make food, play games and minister God’s

love. We have limited the VBS intake to 300 kids at a time, as it is a

manageable number, but the teachers of the schools are begging us

to have the VBS every holiday. Definitely our desire as well, and we

are praying for a permanent youth worker to come alongside us. The

pictures tell the story.

Sewing Class, First Aid @ home and Painting Project at Masodi Village

We were even able to have a jumble sale where we sold donated bra’s for

very cheap to ‘Support our Sisters ™’, Grace Rieber gave a sewing class,

Sharon and Lindsey gave first aid classes and the others tackled painting the

wall of the Grade R class and of course the kiddies lined up to have their faces

painted . A jam-packed morning! Thank you Jono for accompanying us wom-

en and being wonderful support.

Kentucky from Kentucky

The Kentucky and Oakbrook team ended their time here with a bash by sharing

a ‘Kentucky’ meal with the farm workers after teaching them on first aid @

home and encouraging them from the Word. What a pleasure to see new

team members join in on God’s Mission each year. The fellowship and men-

torship between young and old is always a testimony to us and to those they

minister to.

Thank you so much, will update you in the coming newsletter on how things are going and God answering prayers.

We love you and appreciate you.
