    Detailed recommendations are contained

    in the following British Standards CodesOf Practice: B.S. 6172/ B.S. 5440, Par. 2and B.S. 6891 Current Editions.

The hob should not be installed in a bedsitting room with a volume of less than 20m³. If it is installed in a room of volumeless than 5 m³ an air vent of effective areaof 100 cm² is required. If it is installed in aroom of volume between 5 m³ and 10 m³an air vent of effective area of 50 cm² isrequired, while if the volume exceeds 11m³ no air vent is required. However, if the room has a door whichopens directly to the outside no air vent isrequired even if the volume is between 5m³ and 11 m³.

If there are other fuel burning appliancesin the same room, B.S. 5440 Part 2 Cur-rent Edition, should be consulted to deter-mine the requisite air vent requirements. For appliances installed in the Republic of Ireland please refer to the NSAI- DomesticGas Installation I.S. 813 Current Editions

     Table Four.

    Location

The hob may be located in a kitchen, akitchen/diner or bed sitting room (with avolume greater than 20 m³), but not in abathroom or shower room.

The minimum distance combustible mate-rial can be fitted above the hob in line withthe edges of the hob is 400 mm. If it is fit-

ted below 400 mm a space of 50 mmmust be allowed from the edges of thehob. For appliances installed in the Republic of Ireland please refer to NSAI- DomesticGas Installation I.S 813 Current EditionSection 7- Permitted Locations of Appli-ance.

    7.2 Gas Connection

WARNING! Any gas installation must be car-ried out by a GAS SAFE REGIS-

     TER installer.

Make sure that, once the hob is installed,it is easily accessible for the engineer inthe event of a breakdown.

    B) Elbow

Connection to the gas supply should bewith either rigid or semi-rigid pipe, i.e.steel or copper.

The connection should be suitable forconnecting to R 1/2 (1/2 BSP malethread). When the final connection has been

made, it is essential that a thorough leak test is carried out on the hob and installa-tion.Make sure that the main connection pipedoes not exert any strain on the hob.If you use flexible metal pipes make surethat they agree to ISO 10380 and ISO10807 standards. Be careful they do notcome in touch with mobile parts or theyare not squeezed. Also be careful whenthe hob is put together with an oven.

It is important to install the elbowcorrectly, with the shoulder on theend of the thread, fitted to the hobconnecting pipe.

Failure to ensure the correct as-sembly will cause leakage of gas.

Make sure that the gas supplypressure of the appliance obeysthe recommended values.

    Rigid connection:

Carry out connection by using metal rigidpipes (copper with mechanical end).

    7.3 Injectors replacement

    1. Remove the pan supports.

    2. Remove the caps and crowns of theburner.

    3. With a socket spanner 7 remove theinjectors and replace them with theones which are necessary for the typeof gas you use (see table in "Techni-cal Information" chapter).

    4.  Assemble the parts, follow the sameprocedure backwards.

    5. Replace the rating plate (it is near thegas supply pipe) with the one for thenew type of gas supply. You can findthis plate in the package suppliedwith the appliance.

If the supply gas pressure is changeableor different from the necessary pressure, you must fit an applicable pressure ad-

juster on the gas supply pipe.
