Boiler TDS

• What is Boiler TDS?– TDS (total dissolved solids) is the measurement of particles

in a fluid. For example water in a steam boiler.

• Why do we need to control it?– High TDS causes foaming on the surface of the water. This

reduces boiler efficiency and contaminates the steam system.

• TDS Measurement– TDS is derived from conductivity measurement in S/cm

– New conductivity input module, order code TD

• TDS Control– Continuous control

» Temperature compensated TDS reading in PPM or S/cm@25°C

» Probe deterioration alarm

» Reduced probe scale build up

» Simple calibration functions

– Timed bottom blowdown» Uses real time clock to initiate blowdown

» Can be networked in multiple boiler installations

» Complies with PM60 - UK standard concerning multiple boiler installations
