2007 County Fair Membership Queen Named Stefani Gertson, center, was crowned the 2007 Colorado County Fair membership queen last

Thursday night at the Entertainment Pavilion on opening night of the 29th Annual Colorado County Fair in Columbus after she sold $7,290 in tickets. Kylee Werland and Simone Petrosky were first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively, with $6,710 and $2,740 in sales. The queen and junior queen contestants combined sold a total, season and day passes, $31,720.

Mrs. Anna Lee Higgins pre- sented the program "The His- tory of the Methodist Church in Eagle Lake" to the Eagle Lake Study Club at their monthly meeting held on September 12, at the Wintermann Library. From the first Methodist circuit riders in 1872 to the present date, the 135 year history of the Methodist church in Eagle Lake included the people 'I'd Like To Have Known" which is this year's theme for the Study Club.

Gracyn Elizabeth Center Brian and Karen Center of

Garwood are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Gracyn Elizabeth Center, born Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 3:31 am at Christus St. Catherine Hospital inKary.

Gracyn weighed eight pounds, 4.7 ounces and was 21 inches long. She is welcomed home by big sister, McKinley Brooke Center, 4 years old.

Maternal grandparents are Max and Sandy Kattner of Hous- ton.

Paternal grandparents are Sam and Wanda Center of Chero- kee, formerly of Eagle Lake.

Great grandparents are Lilly Kattner of Houston and T.J. Smith of Independence, Mo.

Eagle Lake are pleased to an- nounce the birth of their child, a daughter, born September 10 at

7:04 a.m. at Rice Medical Center in Eagle Lake.

Clarissa Karina weighed six pounds, 13 ounces and measured 19 inches at birth.

She was welcomed home by brothers Ryan Michael Castillo, 11; and Joseph Ryan Castillo, six.

Maternal grandparents are Hortencia Castillo of Eagle Lake and the late Jose Castillo, Sr.

Paternal grandparents are Zenon and Geronima Almaraz of Orchard.

Great-grandparents are Jose Castillo, Sr. of Eagle Lake and the late Manuela Castillo and the late Mr. and Mrs. Atilano Cardenas, Sr. of Eagle Lake.
