28 February 2019 Term 1 Week 5
The gymnastics program commenced this week and the students were extremely engaged
in all activities. The expertise of the instructor is a key point in the development of greater
coordination and strength.
We thank representatives from Asquith Boys and Girls High Schools for visiting on
Tuesday to share information about their respective schools. The students have gained
further insights into what these schools have to offer which will assist families to make
decisions around the most suitable high school. Attending high school open nights are
another way to help parents to make informed choices.
The next PSSA League Tag round will be on Friday 15 March. Next Friday 8 March, our
swimmers will be heading off to PLC to participate in the Zone Swimming Carnival. We
wish them all the best but they have already made us very proud!
Speaking of proud, we congratulate Sari Bell for trying out for Zone Soccer. She has been
successful in making it into a Hornsby team and due to play a further round to progress to
the next level. Well done, Sari! We are also very proud of Lex Jephtha’s efforts in the Zone
Tennis trials.
The 2019 P&C AGM was held on Wednesday evening. The office bearer positions for the
new year are:
President – Mr Joel King
Vice President (1) – Mrs Michelle Armstrong
Vice President (2) – Mr Chris Haywood
Secretary – Mrs Jess Lategan
Treasurer – Mr Bjorn Lategan
We look forward to working together to continue to achieve great things at this school.
All for now

The Seniors Week Cruise On Tuesday, 19th February 2019, the Year 6 students attended the Seniors Week Mys-
tery cruise on the Bay Runner. For the first hour we enjoyed the “senior-y” and provid-
ed entertainment including singing our school song. Our first stop was at Patonga
where we picked up more passengers. We then served the passengers tea, water,
muffins and biscuits as the boat cruised down Berowra Waters. It was lovely.
Next stop was Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Camp where we were given a cap
each from Liz who worked there. We had a 10 minute walk to the Mess Hall. There we
were split into 2 groups, where some served and the others cleaned up. We all ate
roast chicken, veggies and bread for lunch followed by apple crumble with custard
(yum). When all the cleaning was done, we returned to the boat with ice blocks in
hand.
Then Zephyr lost his hat! Luckily the people at the camp were nice enough to save his
hat. A few minutes later Harry then lost his hat as well, sadly it couldn’t be saved! Be-
fore we headed back, we dropped off the people from Patonga then we headed back
to Brooklyn wharf. Unfortunately by then, we were running late! That concludes our
day on the river.
