LaRue County Conservation District Board Advisor David Shelton presented
a soil erosion demonstration to fifth graders at Hodgenville and Abraham
Lincoln Elementary Schools. Above, he visited with Laura Kudrna’s class at
HES. He also conducted tests on soil they brought to school from their own
backyards. Each student received a pine tree to take home and plant, cour-
tesy of the LCCD and the Lincoln Area Longbeards Wild Turkey Federation.
Shelton has been visiting the schools and providing supplemental
Environmental Education with LCCD for almost 20 years.
