1 Introduction

What is 2Beat?

Teach rhythm and pulse by building up various beats.

2Beat can be found in the Tools --> Music section of Purple Mash.

2 Screen layout and commandsClick on the image to find out about the different areas of the screen.

2.1 Top Menubar

New File.

Open existing file.

Save your file to either your work folders or to a Shared Folder (in the cloud) or to your

device.

Export your file as an mp3.

Share the file to a displayboard or blog, create a QR code or link, set as a 2Do or send by

2Email.

2.2 Playback tools

The playback tools are in the centre of the top menu bar:

Change to make the rhythm longer or shorter.

Press to play back the recording.

Use the slider to alter the playback speed. The playback is automatically looped.

2.3 Main Screen

The main screen displays a selection of drums and percussion down the left-hand side. Click the small

arrows to change the sound of the instrument to mimic different ways of playing the instruments. In

the percussion row are a selection of percussion sound effects.

Click in the grey boxes to control the rhythm of when each sound is played. Watching the help video

is helpful in learning how to build up a rhythm.

Use the sliders on the right-hand side to control the volume level of the individual instruments relative

to one another.
