NFV University Sponsored Research at Amdocs Raanana Site – Call for Participation – Abstract
Amdocs is pleased to present a unique opportunity to participate in NFV research at the Amdocs Raanana NFV Research Lab. Interested researchers are invited to submit research proposals to be conducted in the lab. Those selected will be provided with a suitable research environment. Listed below are relevant suggested challenges and research topics.
If you wish to apply, please send a short (3-6 pages), high-level research proposal to Hanoch Sapoznikov ([email protected]) describing the focus of your intended research, your environmental and infrastructure requirements, and the expected timeframe for the research.
A committee will evaluate all proposals and select the winners for the upcoming Lab Research Cycle. The objectives of the research proposal can take into consideration the following trends of the global economy:• Theincreaseinthedemandfordatacommunication(mobileandfixed)andthe
steep fluctuations in such demands
• TheabilityofBigDataanalyticstogeneratepredictiveandreal-timeinformation to support Telco operations
• TheneedofthetraditionalTelcoindustry’sparticipantstobeagileandcreative in reducing their cost of operations
• ChangesinTelcoenvironments,drivenbyevolvingcustomerneeds and the convergence of computing storage and network technologies
• Evolutionofvirtualizationtechnologyandcloudoperatedservicesthatareredefiningthemethodsofprovisioningnetworkservicesand are being enabled by the emergence and adoption of NFV andSDNtechnologies
Amdocs, a leading global provider of Telco industry support systems, intends to lead the NFV Lab, which will provide researchers a real NFV Telco orchestration environment with 3rd party VNF components.
