Keywords: Populism, Geopolitical Arena, Complexity
In todays world, it is apparent business has become more global, but the de-bate remains to what extent globalization takes place across production and mar-kets. Arguably, a company may need a foreign policy considering events suchas the takeover of Crimea, Russian threat to Ukraine, British exit from the Eu-ropean Union, extreme fluctuation of political views, continuous financial crisisin Greece, the rising barriers to trade, prolonged stagnation, rise of populism, theEuropean socio-political and economic crisis or the expansion of China in SouthEast China. This paper attempts to research different issues of the geopoliticalenvironment a multinational corporation (MNC) addressing today. It is in the in-terest of a MNC and its managers to understand the complexity of the internationalgeopolitical arena and to have the foresight to comprehend the implications andinfluences of events on the business continuum. A conceptual model is guidingthe development of key elements but also future research. Moreover, the researchis attempting to coalesce the strategic posture of the global business as they relateto geopolitical issues.

This paper investigates the effect of liquidity on the ex-dividend day pricepremium. It is well documented that prices drop less than the dividend amounton the ex-day; this market inefficiency is generally attributed to the tax-inducedclientele effect and various structural frictions. I show that, even in a tax-freemarket where the usual microstructure impediments are absent, abnormal returnspersist. Using a new measure of liquidity, I find that liquidity is economically andstatistically significant in the determination of the ex-dividend day price anomaly, indicating that trading restrictions can partially explain the ex-dividend return puz-zle.

An abnormal gait pattern changes the bones and muscles structurally. Reg-ular gait monitoring and correction are needed to improve an abnormal gait pat-tern. In this paper, we propose a footwear system for gait pattern improvement indaily life. The proposed system measures gait pattern by using a force sensitiveresistor (FSR) sensor and inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor and visualizesthe measured gait pattern on a smartphone screen in real time. The proposed sys-tem provides users with an opportunity to continuously monitor and correct theirgait pattern by using a smartphone, which has high accessibility in daily life.
