PAST CONTINUOUS

Use

We use the past continuous to talk about something that was happening continuously

in a designated time in the past. Ex.: At 10 0clock last night I was sleeping.

COMPARE:

I am eating. (estou comendo, presente, neste momento).

I was eating. (estava comendo, passado, num momento do passado).

Past continuous verb to be (in the past) + ing
