Catedral de Sigenza
The Cathedral of Sigenza is in Guadalajara (Spain). Is a Roman Catholic Church and is a monument too. This cathedral was designated in 1931. Is built in Romanesque and gothic style. The cathedral has its origin in 1121 when Bishop Don Bernardo de Agn (1121-1152) was named bishop by Bernard de Sedirac. At the time of de reign of Doa Urraca, daughter of Alonso VI.The cathedral is a very large Gothic edifice of ashlar stone.
The main choir begins in the transept with a Renaissance altar built by order of Bishop Mateo de Burgos.The ceiling and the vitrals of the cathedral were demaged in the Spanish Civil War, with the reconstruction ending in 1947.
Inside the cathedral is the high altar of San Pedro and very tombs: Of Fernando de Montemayor, of Eustaquio Nieto and Martn and the tomb of Juan and Antn Gonzlez.
