The Evolution® range o quenched and tempered crawler shoes was developed by Bradken toovercome the shortalls in some traditional designs.

Evolution crawler shoes are manuactured rom induction hardened NiCrMo cast steel. The basemetal enables the crawler shoes to handle high impact loads whilst the surace hardening providesexcellent wear resistance in critical wear areas.

The Evolution design incorporates the use o Bradken’s patented ‘continuous roller path’. Thisdesign enhancement improves the contact pressure distribution between the roller and the shoe.As a result, the roller is supported at all times, reducing metal fow in the shoe and increasing theservice lie o mating components.

The connecting pins are manuactured rom induction hardened NiCroMo steel and are retainedby a simplied nut and bolt system which allows or ease o installation,removal and maintenance.There is no longer a requirement to use retaining plates and circlips as utilised in some otherdesigns.

The grouser wing tip has been redesigned and strengthened to provide greater durability andsupport in uneven pit conditions.

The Opti-Trak ® range o crawler shoes developed by Bradken oers signicant advantages overthe traditional shoe design.

Traditional shoes are case hardened on the surace, but are soter underneath meaning wear ratesincrease over time.

Bradken’s Opti-Trak shoes are through hardened to give excellent wear resistance and uniormwear rates all the way through the metal section.

METAL SECTION THICKNESS

The roller path area is supported by Bradken’s patented ‘Pillar o Strength’ to prevent crushingo the worn shoe in hard pits. Other areas o high wear and those subjected to signicant impactstrikes have been strengthened to provide greater structural integrity.

The connecting pins are manuactured in-house rom high quality, induction hardened 4340 gradesteel. This material ensures a greater service lie than the more commonly used 4140 grade steel.

The Opti-Trak range o Crawler Shoes and undercarriage components are interchangeable withthe existing OEM components.

Sprockets, Idlers & Rollers

The sprockets and idlers are superior grade, highquality, induction hardened castings that provideincreased impact and wear characteristics. The casehardened wear suraces ensure that the hardness levelsare matched to the mating components, whilst retaininga ductile core that is able to absorb impact.

The CNC machined suraces and the use o superiorquality components ensure that the replacement partsconsistently t and are o optimum quality.

The Bradken designed and manuactured range o loadand return rollers have been developed or optimal wearin all conditions and oer a range o eatures to ensuremaximum wear lie and eliminate downtime.

Bradken manuactured rollers have a orged one-pieceCrMo steel roller shell. The incorporation o high quality,spun cast manganese bronze bushes and NiCrMograde axles, oer superior wear and impact resistance.Component lie expectancy is enhanced with the use oinduction hardened wear suraces.

Bradken oers an extensive range o other undercarriage components such as sprockets,idlers, load and return rollers.

The quench and tempered alloy steel utilized is atougher alloy. This results in reduced incidences o pinbreakages. Each pin is individually induction hardened aspart o the manuacturing process. The hardened outercase and tough ductile core reduces pin wear whilstmaintaining optimum core strength. The ully automated,quality assured production process ensures greaterconsistency and reliability o components.
