  • ABSTRACT

    Falls are the major invisible killers in elderly health care today. Immediate rescue

    system can alleviate the severity of falls in elderly people. Installation of a warning

    system for fall-risk elderly people is important and necessary for immediate rescue

    system. This study investigated the falling characteristics for the peoples motion, and

    to establish fall modes and research data. Falling warning system is needed to detect

    falling situation, but error signals often reduce system reliability. This study used

    systematic innovation technology (TRIZ) as the analytical tool and by using

    functional analyses and cause-effect chain analysis to analysis that the reason of a

    warning systems misjudgment. By using the sensors of Grove - 3-Axis Digital Gyro

    and Grove - 3-Axis Digital Accelerometer combined with ARDUINO micro

    processing system, grab falling signals in order to predict the signal characteristics of

    people fall and reduce the number of false positives in order to provide remote

    monitoring personnel respond quickly, shortening the rescue time. The research

    results can be used to improve the reliability of identification fall detection and

    warning system aids the development of fall prevention reference.
