The 3-Pt 15 and 3-Pt 26 both contain a 5-paddle impeller (digging wheel). Each paddle contains hard-surfacing and is designed to be resurfaced as it wears. A deflector shield is available for the 3-Pt 15, 20, and 26 models. This shield allows the operator to control the soil if it needs to be contained for a diversion, small terrace, or simply can’t be thrown.

The shoe (or dragplate) on the rear of the ditcher gives the machine stability and helps prevent gouging. The shoe is also formed to the radius of the impeller to help form the ditch in loose or wet conditions. A heavy-duty ratchet jack is standard on each unit for adjustment of the shoe.

Each unit is equipped with parking stands for easy hook-up and disconnection. Each 3-Pt ditcher can be used with Cat II or III quick hitch by moving the bushings to the desired location.

The gearbox components are easily accessible by remov-ing the top or side cover plates. The gearbox consists of large shafts, heavy-duty sprockets and bearings, and dou-ble 80 roller chain; all enclosed and running in an oil bath. An external idler adjustment is easily accessible and should be used for chain tensioning. Proper chain tension dramati-cally increases the life of your equipment.

The standard 6-paddle impeller on the 3-Pt 20 can be used in any soil condition and is ideal for running in extremely trashy or wet conditions. More paddles on the impeller re-sults in less shock on the ditcher and tractor; thus running smoother and increasing machine life.

The 3-Pt 20 has an optional 18” cutting edge with shear bolts, 20” impeller and 4 replaceable hardened paddles with shear bolts. The cutting edge slices soil loose, reducing shock and vibration on the impeller and other moving parts; thus maximizing the machine’s life. It also allows for multi-ple passes to widen or slope your ditch.

An optional ripper tooth is available on all 3 models. The tooth is designed for running in extremely hard or rocky con-ditions. An optional deflector shield can be used to contain the soil being distributed. The soil can be placed 4’-8’ from the machine to build a diversion or small terrace.

Each 3-Pt ditcher contains 2 shear bolts in the PTO should an immovable object be struck. The 3-Pt 26 also has a shear bolt* in the wheel to protect it against damage when larger objects are hit.

The Hurricane 3-Point 42 Ditcher is designed to work in extremely trashy conditions such as sod or stalks. The standard ripper tooth is designed for hard, dry conditions. The impeller wheel is ruggedly designed to take the punishment it will receive working in these conditions. It does, however, have shear bolts if a large immovable object is struck.

The “SWINGER”


The gearbox components are easily accessible by removing the top or side cover plates. The gearbox consists of large shafts, heavy duty sprockets and bearings, double 80 roller chain; all enclosed and running in an oil bath. An ex-ternal idler adjustment is easily accessible and should be used for chain tensioning. Proper chain tightening dramatically increases the life of your equipment.

The “SWINGER” is a 3-Pt. hitch mounted ma-chine designed to be used as an offset ditcher. It can be operated behind either tractor tire or any position in between. This ditcher accom-modates any tractor with 80-140 H.P., 540 or 1000 R.P.M. P.T.O. and one hydraulic outlet.

An 8” stroke cylinder hinges the machine from side to side. A 50˚ constant velocity (CV) joint is standard on each machine to accommodate the ditchers “SWINGING” action. It is common to cut 6-8” deep and travel about 2 1/2 M.P.H. per pass with the swinger. The power take off (P.T.O.) also contains a CV joint for smooth operation.

The standard 20” six paddle wheel can be re-placed with a 15” five paddle wheel for smaller applications. The shoe (or dragplate) on the rear of the ditcher gives the machine stability and helps prevent gouging. The shoe is also formed to the radius of the impeller to help form the ditch in loose or wet conditions. An adjust-ing screw is standard on each unit for adjust-ment of the shoe.

A coulter attachment option may be used when working in extreme trashy conditions. One or two coulters may be used depending on conditions. The coulter attachments are hydraulically controlled to adjust the depth they are cutting in relationship to the depth of the ditcher.

THE “ORIGINAL SIDE-ARM” DITCHER

Side-Arm Ditchers


Each Hurricane is built with the knowledge, precision, and dedication for a durable, long lasting, low mainten-ance, dependable, machine. This Side-Arm Ditcher is equipped with a 1000 R.P.M. P.T.O. with 2 shear bolts. It is designed for a cat. III hitch and requires 150-250 h.p. The 42” impeller (digging wheel) contains 2 shear bolts and has 9 hard surfaced paddles for maximum life. The soil is thrown away from the machine, spread-ing it evenly out in the field up to 65’ away.

A round digging wheel allows the operator to remove soil from the bottom of the ditch without disturbing the sides. This procedure reduces erosion by leaving the banks of the ditch sodded.

Operating the Hurricane Side-Arm Ditcher with a 200 h.p. tractor, 1 mile of ditch can be cleaned every hour, remov-ing 10-12 inches of soil from the bottom.

Three sets of hydraulic outlets are necessary to operate the machine. One cylinder operates each of the two arms to maintain the desired distance and depth of the ditch. The main arm contains a double 80 roller chain and the extension arm contains a triple 80 roller chain, necessary for speed reduction and machine efficiency. Each arm con-tains oil for chain lubrication and an idler for chain tension.

A cylinder to control the deflector is standard on each side-arm ditcher. This allows the throw of the soil to be controlled from the tractor cab instead of a manual adjustment. Also available is the deflector extension. This would allow the operator to berm or pile the extracted soil, instead of throwing it.

Also available is an electronic valve that allows the control box to be placed anywhere in the cab. This allows the operator easier control of the ditcher and uses only one hydraulic remote instead of using 3 remotes.

A counter balance is standard on each Hurricane Side-Arm Ditcher. This counter balance works in conjunction with the extension arm to keep the ditcher balanced in all working positions.

The machine can be operated at a distance of 5 feet to 14 feet from the center of the tractor and at a depth of 9 feet to 3 feet, respectively.


Tail wheels are optional for the “Baby Side-Arm”. These wheels help support the weight of the machine and add stability while operating the machine.

The top link of the “Baby Side-Arm” is designed to telescope. This allows the machine to float, instead of being hooked rigid, while being operated on rough terrain.

The “Baby Side-Arm” can be operated with a 90-150 HP tractor. It requires 2 sets of hydraulic outlets (unless it is equipped with an optional hydraulic deflector) and a 1000 R.P.M. P.T.O. A 540 R.P.M. P.T.O is optional. The P.T.O. contains 2 shear bolts to protect it if immovable objects are struck. The 26” impeller also con-tains a shear bolt to protect the machine and the tractor.

Operating the Hurricane “Baby Side-Arm” Ditcher with a 100 h.p. tractor, 1 mile of ditch can be cleaned every hour, removing 7-8 inches of soil from the bottom.

The “Baby Side-Arm” DitcherThe “Baby Side-Arm” Ditcher is designed as an inexpensive and efficient way to clean roadside and drainage ditches.

It is versatile enough to use for many drainage applications and can operate in dry or muddy conditions or anything in between.

The counter weight can be positioned manually for a nar-rower transportation width. A hydraulically controlled counter

weight is optional, for easier adjustment.

The “Baby Side-Arm” can be equipped with laser or GPS control for precision accuracy.

An electronic valve can be added to pos-ition the control box anywhere in the cab for easier operation and control of the ditcher. This valve also just uses one (1) remote of the tractor.

This machine can reach out approximately 10.5’ from the center. It also can reach nearly 5’ down in a ditch.

The “Baby Side-Arm” contains a 26” digging wheel with 5 hardened replaceable paddles. Paddles can be resurfaced as needed. This machine is very low in maintenance and very high in durability!

Ditch Angel™

Let the Ditch Angel™ prove to you how simple roadside maintenance can be.


The counter bal-ance weight is adjustable on the Ditch Angel™. It can be positioned backwards (manually) to gain more clearance for transporting or storage. The counter balance can also be equipped with a hydrualic cylinder. The hy-draulically controlled option allows the operator to slide the counter balance from the cab, for narrower transportation.

A tail wheel assembly is optional for the Ditch Angel™. This assembly helps support the weight of the machine and add stability while operating the machine.The top link of the Ditch Angel™ (not pictured) is designed to telescope. This allows the machine to float while being operated on rough terrain instead of being hooked rigid.

The Ditch Angel™ comes with a 26” 5 paddle impeller. Paddles are designed to be hard surfaced or carbited as they wear.The design of the Ditch Angel™ allows the operator to ditch in many positions. With the use of hydraulic cylinders, operated from the cab of the tractor, it is easy to adjust the depth and distance the ditcher is cutting to get the desired ditch. The impeller can reach 11’ from the center of the machine out to the side and a maximum of 5’ deep.

The Ditch Angel™ is a side arm ditcher. It comes equipped with a 26” ditching wheel. The ditcher operates in dry or wet conditions. It blows soil 30’-50’ out the right side of the machine. A hydraulic-ally controlled deflector is standard on all side-arm ditchers to keep material diverted away from ma-chine and operator.
