6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

When planning my pages I used soft where such as Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office PowerPoint. This was very useful as it allowed me to change my planning as and when I thought of new ideas.

I also scanned my drafted pages onto the computer using the scanner. This along with my other planning, were then upload to blogger.com using Scribd and Slide Share.

Finally to construct my cover I used Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe InDesign CS3 for my contents and double page spread.

I used Photoshop to create my Cover

I also put a drop shadow on my mast head to create more of a 3D

effect.

I first used the Magic Wand Tool to delete the shadow on my image. I then used the Magnetic Lasso Tool and cut out the top of her head so it could

then be placed over my mast head.

Photoshop was used to edit my images for the Contents Page.

I first edited the brightness of my image using a free online Photoshop trial.

Then in Photoshop I used the Magic Wand tool to cut away the shadow and finally rotate my image to an angle.

To place my main image I first selected the ‘Rectangle Frame Tool’ and drew a box to the size I needed. I clicked File and Place and was then able to select

and adjust my image to the appropriate size. The image was then rotated to a slight angle and a drop

shadow was also put on.

InDeisgn was predominantly used to create my Contents Page.

InDesign was also used to create my Double Page Article.

I inserted a drop capital at the beginning of my copy so that the reader is immediately drawn to the starting point. I first highlighted the text and then adjusted the ‘drop cap number of lines’ to number three.
