Case Study - Payroll & HR BenefitsSeptember 17, 2012

Our sales and lead generation company penetrated upper management through the gate keeper. The Head of Global Procurement agreed to a 30 minute conference call, where we introduced who Above the Standard

Procurement Group® (ATS) is and talked about our processes and methodologies. We were able to ask this multi-billion company, what there needs were and chal-lenges they faced. He stated there could be multiple needs but asked for another call for us to discuss our background with the Senior Director of Global Contracts.

Our next call with the Senior Director took place about four weeks later, where we outlined who ATS was, how we have helped many organizations in hundreds of spend categories, and that we were a full procurement and financial services firm. The Senior Director then explained that he had just started, explained that they had a need to reduce costs, as we listened and took notes. After this call, we emailed a brochure and one of our white papers as follow up. Then, they asked to meet them in person at their world headquarters for about one hour.

It was decided after this meeting that a master agreement would be created. We communicated back and forth and finalized a mutually beneficial agreement that where they would come out ahead and so would we. Our client decided to have ATS start with software maintenance agreements for cost reduction (soft-ware vendor management) for best value even though they knew we could help them in so many different areas. The entire process from the first phone call to the first project being started took almost a year. Once the client decided to go forward, we completed the project in less than a month with a total cost savings of $161,871 to our client. Keep in mind that this was only one project!

ATS’s Cleveland, Ohio, President negotiated the contract and will negotiate many of the future software contracts because of his expertise in the software industry. ATS is able to help clients see tangible, real savings, with sustainable long-term benefits because we have experts in many areas.

Additional Project(s) ConductedATS is in the midst of being asked to review other software agreements for cost reduction. We have also discussed other areas that we could help them with that they are open to.

Outcome(s)The first software maintenance agreement cost reduction resulted in a savings of $161,871. Our client has some other software maintenance agreement projects they would like us to work on. And, the likelihood of being able to work in several other projects is very high.
