St Mary’s Catholic Church Congratulations to the following Jubilee students who recently received the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist. The celebration was lead by Bishop Brian Finnigan; Isabella Quinney, Shontae Tranquille, Owen Van Rooyen, Liam Whiteford. Speech & Drama News This term has certainly flown by and a warm and snuggly break beckons us all! Classes beginning in week 1 next term and newsletters and accounts will be emailed to all families at this time. Term 4 is always full of excitement and the sound of homework practice (!!) as it heralds out appearances at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod in September. Please check that all fees are up to date. Some families seem to be unaware that accounts are now being emailed home to the address we have on file. If you have not received yours for this term please contact me immediately to allow classes to begin again in term 3. Enjoy the term break, Anita Eldridge [email protected] Naidoc 2014 Today Jubilee welcomed guests from Ngutana-Lui Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Cultural Studies Centre. All students engaged in activities such as Dance, Stories, Boomerangs, Bush Food & Medicine. The students thoroughly enjoyed each activity and look forward to celebrating Naidoc week with the Cultural Studies Centre again next year. Principal’s Listening Forum for Parents - Focus on Homework 5.30pm - 6.15pm tomorrow, Wednesday 25th June in the i-Centre parents are invited to a forum with the focus being on homework. Jubilee Primary School is placing homework under the microscope and a comprehensive review is being undertaken. This forum is an opportunity for the Leadership Team to listen to the view, opinions and thoughts of parents. Lost Property Following yesterdays Beach-a-thon we have a huge amount of lost property. All items are located in the green bins stored in between the Administration Office and the Staff Room. Please instruct your child to check lost property to locate any item which may belong to them. Due to the over flow of uniform items any unnamed items of clothing not claimed by this Friday will be disposed of. Year 6’s & 7’s Life Education In Term 3, students in Year 6 and Year 7 are being offered Puberty and Relationships Education. The 'TALK ABOUT IT' program is run by LIFE EDUCATION and is designed to assist young people in developing a positive attitude towards their own sexuality and provides them with information on how to look after themselves during this stage of development. We are fortunate to have experienced educators from LIFE EDUCATION conducting these sessions that have been tailored to the needs of our school and students.

Tuckshop Lucky Dip Congratulations to the Tuck shop Lucky Dip Winner; Week 9 - Jack Stafford in Yr.3F .

Interschool Sport Yr.5, 6 & 7 Well done to the Girls Touch Football Team who played well as a team and were undefeated in all of their games. The fast runners in the team really made a difference. Bitta and Lara improved greatly from their first training session. All the girls had fun and always displayed a great attitude.

Gold Coast City Council Tree Planting Day Last Thursday 30 selected students from Prep - Year 7 attended a GCCC tree planting initiative at Little Clagiraba Reserve and included other activities such as water testing. Students enjoyed learning more about our environment and undertook several activities with great interest and excitement.

Jubilee Community Business Directory Do you have a business and want to be part of an online Jubilee Community Business Directory? To go into the directory, drop your business card in to the office or email it through to [email protected] by the end of the term. If you like, write a small detailed description of your business, even offer a special discount, and we will do the rest. Book Drive on NOW Now’s the time to go through your bookshelves! We are looking for good quality second hand books and magazines from the whole school for the Year 7 book stall for the Family Fun Day. Bring them in and place them in the baskets located in each classroom until the end of term. Family Fun Day Flyer Term 3 marks the commencement of preparations for the FFD! Please see the attached flyer for an overview of how you can support this much loved event. Your class Parent Support Person will be in contact with further information about your year level stall. Trivia Night Success This year's Multicultural Madness Trivia Night was a resounding success! Our Jubilee community came together in a grand way, with lots of laughs and fun. Thanks to MC's Brian Mason and David Sewell, Jo Riddell for scoring, Mr Parry for sound & lighting. Thanks to the organisers Linda Vayro, Brian Mason, Susan De Vere and Kim Seed. P&F would like to also thank the parents who helped with set up. Thanks to all who attended and made this night a highlight on the Jubilee calendar. Monthly P&F General Meeting Our next meeting is Tuesday 15th July at 7:00pm in the Jubilee Centre Meeting Room (Hall) – first week back after school holidays! Come along and see what we do, share your ideas and help make decisions about our school community – we look forward to seeing you there. Interschool Showman Event Congratulations Juliette Rae who recently entered the Aquinas College Show Horse Competition Jubilee Primary School. In the Primary Show Hunter Pony Class Juliette came 2nd out of 6 competitors. Well done also to Georgia Robertson who assisted Juliette on the day.

Tuckshop in Term 3 We thank Rhonda Verheijen for her hard work in the Tuckshop during Term 2 and wish her all the best on her future endeavours. For Term 3 we welcome Jane Bourke and Nikki Smith who joins Robert Parker to the Tuckshop Team. Please find attached to this flyer further information in relation to volunteering to assist in the Tuckshop.

My favourite activity was tree planting.

We planted 320 or more plants.

It was my favourite because it was easy, fun and it helps the

environment.
