EARLY GRAFT LOSS AFTER LIVER TRANSPLANTATION

Max Centre for Liver and Biliary Sciences (CLBS) at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi is one of the largest liver transplant centres in the world. It has carried out more than 300 living donor transplants every year for last 4 years successively. The total number of liver transplants performed so far has been more than 2500.

CLBS is actively involved in training medical personnel from liver transplant units from countries across the world. Some of the teams which visited us were from USA, Malaysia, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Pakistan & Singapore. Within India, CLBS has provided help to set up liver transplant programs in public institutions like Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi, SMS Medical College, Rajasthan; Cuttack Medical College, Orissa & Bangalore Medical College, Karnataka.

With a view to disseminate knowledge of liver transplantation, CLBS organises an annual conference every year. The theme of the third conference which will be held between 15th-17th September this year is “Early graft loss”. This is an important issue in Living Donor Liver Transplant where graft loss usually means patient loss.

We have had the opportunity to serve patients from over 20 countries and developed a highly successful low cost model of liver transplant with consistently good results. This has been possible because the group has introduced many innovations in operative techniques. In this meeting, we hope to share our experience with the rest of the world and also learn from the masters to strengthen areas where we feel it needs improvement. Ex-CLBS trainees have excelled in their own centres and we hope that in this meeting we will be able to interact with them once again and relive those moments when liver transplantation was a rarity in India.

“It is indeed a great honor and pleasure to invite you for the third edition of CLBS Symposium in New Delhi on 15th – 17th of September 2017. The theme for this year’s symposium is

“Early Graft Loss after Liver Transplantation” and Operative Workshop on Live Laparoscopic Donor Hepatectomy.

We intend to discuss the latest advances in all these elds for 3 days. Day 1 & day 2 are dedicated for discussions and day 3 for Operative Workshop on Live Laparoscopic Donor Hepatectomy.

We would be honored and delighted, if you could participate and also encourage rest of your department members to attend the symposium”.
