The Flat Coated Retriever Society of America, sponsored by the Great Western Flat Coated Retriever Club, will support the entry of Flat Coated Retrievers on Saturday with tote bag prizes are offered by the Great Western Flat Coated Retriever Club through the generosity of its members, and feature the Flat Coated Retriever artwork of Lindsay Beth.     REDUCED FEE FOR PUPPY & BRED BY & JUNIORS RAMP - At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on a ramp through all levels of competition: Lagotto Romagnolo, American Water Spaniel, Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirneco dell’Etna, American Stafffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhund, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Norrbottenspets, Cardigan Welsh Corgis, Spanish Water Dogs The following breeds may be judged on the ground, table or ramp: Boykin Spaniels, Whippets The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows. Junior showmanship judges should follow the above. Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. (In all but emergency situations, the exhibitor has no recourse. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.) 03/01/17 Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.

    FRIDAY – BEST PUPPY COMPETITION On Friday, the club as part of its all breed dog show will hold a Best Puppy Competition. Competition will be for Best of Breed or Variety Puppy, Best Puppy in Group (placements 1 through 4) and Best Puppy In Show. Rules: During the course of regular breed judging, the assigned judge will select a Best Puppy from the class winners of the six to nine month and nine to twelve month classes. This will be done after Best of Breed judging unless the Best Puppy award is automatic. Example: An entry from the puppy classes is awarded Best of Winners or Best of Breed. Only dogs or bitches undefeated iin a puppy class are eligible for Best Puppy Competition. If the first place winner is not present the second place winner may not compete. All Best Puppies will compete in their respective Best Puppy Groups. All Best in Group puppies will compete for Best Puppy in Show. There will be no additional entry fee for this competition. Puppies must be entered in the regular 6 to 9 month or 9 to 12 month puppy class to be eligible for the Best Puppy competition. Each entry for Veteran Sweepstakes does NOT need to be entered in the Regular Classes at this show. Spayed bitches and neutered dogs are allowed to participate in Veteran Sweepstakes.     JUDGES AWARD OF MERIT At the Judge’s discretion up to 2 Dogs and 2 Bitches, which best exemplify the breed’s characteristics, may be awarded an Award of Merit. Judging eligibility for receiving an Award of Merit will include all dogs entered in Best of Breed competition, Winners Dog and Bitch, the first place Veteran Dog and Bitch from each division but excluding Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex. GSRC themed trophy and Hunter Green and Maroon Rosettes will be awarded.
