Where did the summer go?
It seems impossible that we have been back in school for nearly three months!
The leaves are changing colors and finally the temperature is reminding us that fall is here! With fall come lots
of fun 4-H opportunities. Make sure to always check your newsletter closely for all the great events in 4-H.
Looking for a few good people!
Bourbon County 4-H is currently seeking volunteers to teach sewing, cooking, crochet, knitting, and
scrapbooking….just to name a few. Please contact the Extension Office at 859-987-1895 if you would like
more information on how to become a volunteer!
THE BOURBON KNIGHTS
The Bourbon Knights 4-H Horse Club will meet on Monday, October 24th at 6:30 pm at the
Bourbon County Extension Office. We will be electing new officers at that time!
All 4-H age youth (9-19) who have an interest in
horses are welcome to attend.
New members are welcome!!

4-H CAMP July 11 - 14 was a great week at 4-H camp! We had over 130
youth from our community that attended summer 4-H
Camp at North Central 4-H Center, Carlisle, KY.
A special thanks to all the volunteer teachers, adults and
teens who gave above and beyond the call of duty in
serving our youth.

More will be schedule after the first of the year Please try to be in attendance if you are interested in livestock or if

BOURBON COUNTY 4-H SHOOT ING SPORTS Dedication of new 4-H Trap Range
October 23rd Bourbon County Fairgrounds
2:00 PM Rain or Shine
Immediately following the dedication, we invite any youth (9 years old & up)
who would like to try their hand at Trap Shooting to join us.
No Cost….bring your own shells and a lawn chair.
Free food and drinks
This is a great opportunity to investigate if 4-H and/or High School shooting sports is something in which you are interested!

Come learn basic cooking skills all while having fun and preparing yummy foods!

Dear Middle School Student, You are invited to the 4th Annual District 4 Middle School 4-H Retreat on November 7-8, 2016 at North Central 4-H Camp. Registration at the event will be from 5:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, November 7th and the event will conclude on Tuesday, November 8th at 3:00 pm. This event is just District 4 which is made up of 17 counties – a great opportunity to get to know people from right around our community! Enclosed you will find a sample schedule and the registration information. Please consider joining us! Delegate information form, 4-H Participation Information/Enrollment Form and $50.00 payment are due in the Extension Office no later than Tuesday, October 25.
