INTRODUCTION

What is PMS? PMS stands for Powered Muscle Stimulator

The PMS unit is a battery powered device that transmits a

mild electric impulses through conductive self-adhesive electrodes.

These impulses pass through the skin to underlying nerve

fibers and muscles to modify the perception of pain.PMS is a safe and effective drug free method of reducing pain

that is in use by physicians and in pain clinics all over the world.

The Home Tech PMS system unit is a high quality electric

therapy stimulator that you can use in your home.

Pain therapy with PMS. The PMS provided may be

effective in helping to manage particular pain problems. Its

physiological reasonings are explained as follows:

a. Gate control theory.

b. The endorphin theory.

c. Nerve block theory.

d. Pumping effect.

e. Placebotheory.

No matter what pain theory is applied, PMS is both safe and

effective in pain management for many patients with pain.

• Re-use of the electrode by another user could cause the

cross-infection of skin disease.

• The device's shelf-life is 3 years.

• This device is warranted for a period of one year from the

date of purchase by the original buyer.

• The product complies with the electromagnetic compatibility

requirement of EN60601-1-2 as specified in EEC Directive

93/42/EEC as amended by 2007/47/EC.

• Operation in close proximity ( e.g. 1m ) to shortwave or

microwave therapy equipment may produce instability in

the stimulator output.(IEC601-2-10).

• Don'tapply the electrode pad to broken skin.

• Don't abruptly stop or reset the device. It may cause the

user discomfort.

• Don't re-use too many times, if the electrode has deteriorated.

The user may feel irritation, hotness or no effect.

• PMS should not be used in the presence of cardiac

pace make rsordur ing pregnancy.

CAUTION I-» Keep out of the reach of children.

• The contact period is within 30 min on the same part of

patient's body for each usage, but the contact period can

be adjusted by the physician or therapist.

' Don't stimulate over carotid sinus nerves or around the mouth

region.

1 Always use the specified accessories in the manual. The

use of other parts not approved by the manufacturer may

cause harm.

1 For service information like circuit diagram, parts list etc.,

please contact the distributers.

> To clean the unit apply with water or alcohol after treatment.

1 Clean and dry the area to which the electrodes are to be

applied with water or alcohol prior to application of the

electrode.
