The 4 PILLARS Community is your space to connect with others who have done the 4 PILLARS Course or VIP sessions – it’s a place to share, ask questions, learn from others and seek guidance on best practice teaching and learning. It’s our job to help each other and create a safe space where we’re free to share and learn and grow into better teachers, trainers and facilitators. Below are the rules.
1. Just be NICE. Negativity, bullying and toxicity will not be tolerated and you will be ejected
from the community if you are unable to keep that shiz out of our community. Toxicity
breeds toxicity, as does positivity and light. We’re all about breeding the latter. If you’re into
breeding the former, you’re in the wrong place.
2. Discussions, lively discussions and whole hearted debates are encouraged – all out war is
NOT. Have respect for the people on the other side of the discussion and treat them as you’d
want to be treated if you were in their shoes. Simple. Right?
3. Share news about awesome learning experiences, and those that weren’t so awesome, if
we can all learn something from it – but DO NOT name and shame people, courses or
teachers. Talk about what could have been better, and what you’ve learnt from being a part
of the experience, but DO NOT use the experience to trash a person or their product. Use it
as a learning experience, and share that with us so we can ALL learn from it.
4. If you are having an issue with a training provider, take the moral high ground – report the
issues you’re having and leave the door open for that person to help you resolve the issue.
Again, feel free to share that experience if it’s something we can all learn from – and become
better teachers and trainers because of. Do NOT use our community as a venting ground
unless it’s a learning experience for all of us. Again, DO NOT name the person or product:
share the lesson, not the grievance.
5. This is not a community for you to pitch, sell, market or promote
your services. It’s a learning space. Blatant promos will not be
tolerated and your posts will be removed. If you do this on a regular
basis you will be removed from the group. Think of the community as
a classroom – you wouldn’t go around with flyers in a classroom, so
please don’t promote your offerings in our community or directly
message, email or contact our members to do the same.
6. When others are sharing their activities, course content or teaching ideas, have some
integrity – plagiarism, is stealing others ideas without gaining their permission, and is NOT
COOL. Using others ideas for inspiration is AWESOME – but if you’re copying things word for
word or concept for concept it’s about as honest as nicking something from the corner store
– you won’t do that, so why would you steal someone’s course content? If in doubt, ask the
person you’re wanting to ‘share’ with – and have a conversation about how their idea could
be translated into something you could use! If you think someone has ‘stolen’ from you, then
ask them politely and directly. If in doubt, please get in touch with me directly at
7. Do some research if you’re going to work with someone in our community; I can’t vouch
for their integrity, skills, qualifications or experience so make sure YOU know what you’re
buying. 4 PILLARS, Maria Doyle and SELECT Consultants Pty Ltd, are not responsible for any
loss of revenue, damages, breach of contract, or any other grievance that is a result of
someone you choose to work with.
8. If you have any issues with the 4 PILLARS Course content or tech, please get in touch with
me directly at [email protected] - please don’t air your grievances in the
group as it’s not helpful for anyone.
9. You are not obliged to be here in the community, but if you do, then please use it as a
learning experience. It’s a complimentary part of the Course and you CAN learn so much
more from others if you put the time and effort into being an active member of the group.
10. Enjoy the learning experience – and know that just as Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither
is a quality learning experience or a quality facilitator – these things take time and with
reflection, team work and an ever positive attitude, they do eventually come.
Welcome to our community, a place to learn, grow and share – if there is anything else I can
help you with, please contact me directly at: [email protected]
