Purpose To enable the installation of the Oversize HCF on a Xerox4110/4590 Family machine. This optional Tray is an optionto the dual HiCap Feeder accessory, and increases the4110/4590’s oversize paper stock handling capacity.

Procedure

Read the entire procedure before you start theremoval activity.

WARNING

Copy or Print must be fully completed. Checkthat “Online” and “ Job in Memory” lamps areOFF before turning OFF the power. After turn ingOFF the copier, turn OFF the circuit breaker and

unplug the power cord. Install the Lockout Tagdevice.

__ 1. Attach the OHCF to the Xerox 4110/4590(Refer to the Installation Section in EDOC).

__ 2. Release the (2) rail locks and pull the PaperTray out to the Service Position. (Figure 1)

__ 3. Remove the following; (Figure 2)

a) Top Rear Bracket (remove 2 screws)

b) Front Safety Cover (remove 1 screw)

c) Rear Safety Cover (remove 1 screw)

__ 4. Remove the Feeder Assembly.(Figure 3)

a) Disconnect the (2) feeder connectors

b) Remove (4) screws

__ 5. Remove the (2) screws and the CenterCover. (Figure 4)

__ 6. Release the wire harness from the (3)clamps. (Figure 5)

__ 7. Release the (4) wide re-usable wire cableties by actuating the tab; remove anddiscard.

__ 8. Un-plug (Figure 6) the (2) small (pictured)connectors on the wire harness, then removethe (2) wire loop jumpers with the doubleplug (male-to-male). These jumpers andplugs are NOT re-used.

__ 9. Secure the wire harness back into the (3)clamps (see figure 5) leaving the connectorsaccessible.

__ 10. Install the Front and Rear Blower Assembliesfrom this kit using (2) self-tapping screwsprovided in the kit. Connect both front andrear blower connectors (released in step 8)

to the plugs on the fan assemblies. (circled inFigures 7 & 10)

CAUTION:

Do not trap wiring behind the blower

__ 11. Position the Lower Ducts on the detents andsecure with (1) screw provided in the kit.(Figure 8)

__ 12. Install the (2) Upper Ducts on the Feeder Assembly using (2) screws each. Use (2) ofthe screws removed with the Center Cover(this cover is NOT re-used). (Figure 9)

Re-install the Feeder Assembly.

__ 13. Re-install the following:

a) Rear Safety Cover (make sure the coveris secured on the tab on the frame, seefigure 10). Install only one screw; thesecond one is installed in Step c)

b) Front Safety Cover (make sure the coveris secured on the tab on the frame, seefigure 10)

c) Top Rear Bracket

Note: The Center Cover is not re-installed and canbe discarded.

__ 14. If a DFE exists, and the Copier Interfacecable does NOT have a ferrite core attached,install the Ferrite Core from this Kit on thecable, near the IOT connection, as shown in

Figure 11.

__ 15. Mark Off OHCF Tag 2.

Verifying Operation

__ 1. Remove the Lockout Tag device. Reconnectthe Power Cord and Power ON the machine.

__ 2. Verify System operation.

__ 3. Perform Call Closeout Procedure
