Purpose To enable color scanning on the 4112 / 4127, for ColorScan back capabilities.

Procedure

Read the entire procedure before you start theremoval activity.

WARNING

 Af ter turning OFF the copier, turn OFF the ci rcui tbreaker and unp lug the power cord and applyLockout Tag Kit 

WARNING

Use the ESD kit to hand le the PWBs.

 __ 1. Remove the ESS Chassis/Green Controllerfrom the Printer per Step 2 (PL 2.5 and Item1.)

 __ 2. Unplug all of the cables and connectionslocated on the side of the ESS Chassis onthe IOT (Figure 1)

a) Remove the (5) screws.

b) Pull the top handle to remove the ESSChassis and place on a flat worksurface.

NOTE: If this system has an OHCF attached, it willbe necessary to disconnect; un-dock and move thefeeder away from the IOT in order to pull the GreenController out.

 __ 3. If there is a DFE Enablement kit installed (tag3) proceed to Step 4, otherwise continue withstep 6

 __ 4. Remove the BP PWB (Figure 2)a) Remove the (4) screws

b) Carefully separate the BP PWB from theDFE Interface and ESS PWB’s bymoving it in the direction of the arrows

 __ 5. Remove the (2) screws from the DFEInterface bracket/PWB. (Figure 3)

 __ 6. Remove (1) screw and lift bracket and PWBupward (Fig 4)

NOTE: Backplane PWB shown installed in photo,but was removed in prior steps

 __ 7. Install the Memory DIMM (128M) suppliedwith this kit in slot (Figure 5 DFE PWB shownremoved)

 __ a. Insert supplied DIMM __ b. Using finger, gently press downward

to secure the DIMM

 __ 8. Perform steps 4 through 6 to reinstall theDFE interface and BP PWB’s if removed inprevious steps.

 __ 9. Install the LYRA3 PWB provided (Figure 6)

Note: Ensure the LYRA3 PWB is mated properlyprior to securing it to the ESS PWB in the followingsteps.

 __ a. Remove / save the (1) screw. (Figure6)

 __ b. Install the standoff included with thekit in place of the screw. (Figure 7)

 __ c. Mate the LYRA3 PWB to the ESSPWB

 __ d. Secure the LYRA3 PWB to theGreen Controller (1 screw removedpreviously). (Figure 7)

 __ 10. Reinstall the ESS Chassis in the card cage.Ensure chassis engages 3 tabs at the topwhen inserting.

Verifying operation

 __ 1. Reattach cabling removed in Step 2

 __ 2. Reinstall covers.

 __ 3. Remove the Lockout Tag device.

 __ 4. Connect the Power Cord.

 __ 5. Power “ON” the system.

 __ 6. Verify DADF / Scanner and System operation

 __ 7. Perform dC945 CCD calibration and WhiteReference Adjustments.

 __ 8. Familiarize yourself with the added settingsin the Machine for the new Color ScanOptions:

SELECT: ALL SERVICES ICON

SELECT: SCAN TO PC

Observe Color Scan selections.

 __ 9. If the Analyst Trainer or Customer IT personor User with System Administrator Guide hasset up the Scan to Mailbox or Scan to FTPfunction, verify Color scanning is workingcorrectly. If these features have not been setup, proceed to Call CLOSE.

 __ 10. Mark off IOT Tag # 13
