Talking with the kids this month about what they are thankful for and their favorite part about thanksgiving has reassured me that it is all about family time and good food. I loved hearing stories of their traditions and who makes their favorite food the best. This month has been a busy but meaningful one. We finished up our food bank challenge with over 800 items donated! We also started our giving tree for The World day of the poor to support our three current missions (Haiti, Hays Lodgepole & Food Bank Holiday Meals). We set up a memorial table for our deceased loved ones and are praying for them throughout the month. With this, we have been talking with the kids about these subjects and teaching them ways to use their faith through action and prayer. This has been very rewarding to the kids, the teachers and myself. Living your faith, truly is the best way to learn it. Thank you for your continued support & Prayers. We are headed into a busy time of the year, but good news, this busy time is filled with

lots of family time! We also started our giving tree for The World day of the poor

to support our three current missions (Haiti,

Hays Lodgepole & Food Bank Holiday Meals). Ask Father Jose“If you think about something potentially sinful, but don’t say it out loud or act on it, is it still a sin?”• Just thinking about something potentially sinful is not really a sin. Example: someone hit you, you think of hitting back but you don’t do it! That shows patience or forgiveness. Thinking might become harmful or sinful if you har-bor anger or hatred toward someone and constantly think about it [it is called resentment] but do not say it loud or act on it. You are destroying your own peace and ability to do good.

“If we forget to confess one of our sins in the confessional, are we still absolved from those unspoken sins?”• Yes but if you happen to remember those sins later, you tell them the next time you go to confession. If it is a serious sin, delay is not recommended!

TeenI am thankful for my family, my friends and my teachers. My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is going around the table and asking what everyone is thankful for. I also like getting to travel and see my cousins and other family. We like to play football or tag together. My favorite dish is the buttered mashed potatoes made best by my grandma. James Seekins - 8th Grade

My thankful moments are having Thanksgiving together as a family, and sharing our laughter, hugs, and smiles because each person is a joy and a blessing to us all. As for traditions, we are a bit rusty since we have lived so far

apart for almost 12 years. We do have a family memory that we cherish. I had to work until 2 on thanksgiving, my girls were teenagers and they stuffed our turkey and took over roasting it and made cooked cranberry sauce from scratch we were so proud and still are.
