Omnifone’s MusicStation is bridging the ever-decreasing gap between mobile phones and the internet. For a small monthly fee through your phone provider, you can use this specially designed software to listen to music through your phone, making your favourite music truly mobile.

Last.fm is an online radio station with a twist: you can listen to music while supporting and promoting your favourite artist(s)

by talking about them or tagging them. The process works on the popularity of artists, so the more you talk about your

favourite music, the more likely other people will hear it too.

Cloudtrade operates through your mobile phone, allowing you to share your interests with other users via your own ‘cloud’. Cloudtrade’s mission is to offer free anytime, anywhere access to your personal content through a platform that easily and legally lets you share with your friends.

Just like your favourite radio station, Jango plays only your preferred genre of music. But you won’t be listening to

the same music over and over again; it’ll play songs you may not have heard previously but within the same genre, meaning

you don’t have to trail all over the web just to find new music!

You’ll recognise the way that Grooveshark works if you’re famil-iar with iPods. Fantastically easy to use and with no downloads

needed, Grooveshark is a great way to have music at your fingertips without keeping music files on your computer.

RCRD LBL believes artists should be paid for their music, so they (and other record labels) fund bands to make music that they can then distribute for free. They finance themselves via advertising and sponsorship, which we think is a great busi-ness model – supporting musicians while making music free.
