1. HP/Agilent 437B Power Meter

2. HP/Agilent 8481H Power Sensor

The following procedure is used to perform zeroing and calibration of the

HP/Agilent 437B Power Meter with the HP/Agilent 8481H Power Sensor

1. Ensure Power Meter is connected to AC power and the Power Sensor is

connected to the SENSOR port of the Power Meter.

2. Ensure the Power Meter has been allowed to warm up for a minimum of 5

minutes after it has been turned on.

3. Connect the Power Sensor to the POWER REF port of the Power Meter.

4. Press ZERO.

5. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the zeroing operation to complete.

6. Press SHIFT (the blue key) and then CAL.

7. Press ENTER to accept the calibration factor displayed.

Note: Be sure the calibration factor is set to the proper percentage value for the

frequency range being measured. The calibration factor values are shown

on the Power Sensor itself: the factor value should be extrapolated to

approximately the midpoint between the percentage values for 2.0 and 3.0

GHz (26dBm). To set the calibration factor that is displayed, use the left

and right arrow keys to select the digit to change and the up and down

arrow keys to adjust the digit value. End by pressing the ENTER key.

8. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the calibration to complete.

9. Disconnect the Power Sensor from the POWER REF port of the Power Meter.

10.Connect adapters N-f to SMA-m and SMA-f to TNC-f to the Power Sensor to

permit connection to the 7730 Transmit port.
