A long, long, long time ago, back in March, I stood before you to talk about the important min-istries supported by the Catholic Appeal. As we were preparing to launch, our participation as a parish was cut short when Masses were stopped due to Covid19.

Since that time, our parish has relied on the many resources offered by the Archdiocese to chart a path forward through this crisis. The Archdiocese has worked tirelessly with parishes to:

Secure government funding to maintain our parish staffing needs

Provide us with guidance, resources, and sup-plies to safely restart Mass

Offered webinars and tools to share ideas to maintain our virtual connections and continue our evangelization efforts.

Whether you are attending Mass in person or watching from home, I invite you to join me in supporting the Catholic Appeal. LA CAPILLA Hay que volver a redescubrir el valor original de los signos litúrgicos cristianos, para comenzar también una auténtica reforma celebrativa. Que es la Iglesia/Templo/Espacio Litúrgico? Es un espacio para la Asamblea. Hay que subrayar que el término Iglesia significa "Asamblea": reunión de personas que se realiza en un determinado espacio. La función esencial del templo es entonces la de acoger a la asamblea, con el fin de cumplir la invitación de Cristo: "Donde dos o tres están reunidos en mi Nombre, Yo estaré en medio de ellos" (Mt 18,20). La presen-cia de Cristo en el Templo se efectúa, antes que nada, con la reunión eclesial. El Aula es el lugar propio de la asamblea. La concepción arquitectónica del aula litúrgica (templo) está relacionada con la concepción teológica de la asamblea litúrgica. Fue San Roberto Belarmino en tiempos de la escisión de la cristiandad occidental con el protestantismo, que en sus “Controversiae” aclaró el aspecto invisible de la Iglesia como Cuerpo Místico de Cristo y lo ilustró con la analogía del cuer-po, describiendo la relación entre lo espiritual y los aspectos exteriores que la envuelven. El santo representó la estructura de una Iglesia como el cuerpo de Jesucristo, donde el Presi-dente era la cabeza; la Palabra de Dios la boca; la Eucaristía el corazón que vivifica la Iglesia, y la asamblea, los distintos miembros del cuerpo. Y, podríamos añadir, la fuente bautis-mal, como el útero donde nacen los nuevos hijos de la Igle-sia. ¿Cuáles son los elementos de la Asamblea? La sede, ambón y altar son los tres polos magnéticos de la celebración euca-rística que hacen presente los tres grandes aspectos de Je-sucristo: Pastor, Profeta y Sacerdote y la misión de la Iglesia: apacentar, enseñar y santificar al pueblo de Dios. Son tres espacios con acento Cristológico: · SEDE (Cristo Pastor/Rey)- Presidencia · AMBON (Cristo Profeta)- Palabra · ALTAR (Cristo Sacerdote)- Sacramento

THE CHAPEL It is necessary to rediscover the original value of the Christian liturgical signs, to also begin an authentic celebratory reform. What is the Church / Temple / Liturgical Space? It is a space for the Assembly. It should be emphasized that the term Church means "Assembly": a meeting of people that takes place in a certain space. The essential function of the temple is then to welcome the assembly, in order to fulfill Christ's invi-tation: "Where two or three are gathered in my Name, I will be in their midst" (Mt 18:20). The presence of Christ in the Tem-ple is made manifest, first of all, with the ecclesial meeting. The Chapel is the proper place of the assembly. The architec-tural conception of the liturgical space (Chapel) is related to the theological conception of the liturgical assembly. It was St. Robert Bellarmine in times of the split of Western Christianity with Protestantism, who in his “Controversiae” clarified the invisible aspect of the Church as the Mystical Body of Christ and illustrated it with the analogy of the body, describing the relationship between the spiritual and the exter-nal aspects that surround it. The saint represented the struc-ture of a Church as the body of Jesus Christ, where the Presi-dent was the head; the Word of God the mouth; the Eucharist is the heart that vivifies the Church, and the assembly is the different members of the body. And, we could add, the baptis-mal font is like the womb where the new children of the Church are born. What are the elements of the Assembly? The presidential chair, the ambo and the altar are the three magnetic poles of the Eucharistic celebration that make present the three great aspects of Jesus Christ: King/Shepherd, Prophet and Priest and the mission of the Church: to feed, teach and sanctify the people of God. There are three spaces with a Christological accent: Presidential Chair (Christ the King/Shepherd) - President Ambo/Lectern (Christ the Prophet) - Word Altar (Christ the Priest) - Sacrament
