DESCANSA EN EL SEÑOR
Durante varias semanas hemos escuchado lecturas que relatan la difícil tarea de los profetas y discípulos. En el Evangelio de hoy, el Señor Jesús escucha lo que le cuentan los discípulos enviados “de dos en dos” a servir a la gente. Jesús, comprendiendo que están
fat igados, les d ice: “Vengan conmigo a un lugar solitario, para que d e s can se n un p o -co” (Marcos 6:31). Quizás esto también es lo que el Señor les dice a sus discí-pulos del año 2018. Debe-mos hacer un alto en nuestro camino de discípu-los y simplemente descan-sar en el Señor. La Misa del domingo brinda mu-chas oportunidades para la reflexión, en especial du-rante los períodos de silen-
cio luego de las lecturas. ¿Por qué no dedicar algo de tiempo hoy a permitir que la palabra salvadora del Señor penetre tu corazón en esos silencios? REST IN THE LORD
For several weeks we have listened to readings that have re-counted just how arduous the work of prophets and disciples can
be. In today’s Gospel, the Lord Jesus listens to the reports of those he had sent out “two by two” to minister to the people. After the apos-tles reported what they had done, Jesus, recog-nizing their fatigue, says, “Come away by your-selves to a deserted p l a c e a n d r e s t awhile” (Mark 6:31). Perhaps this is what the Lord is telling his disci-ples in the year 2018 as
well. We need to pause on our journey of discipleship and simply rest in the Lord. Sunday Mass provides many opportunities for quiet times, particularly during the periods of silence following the readings. Why not take the time today to allow the saving word of the Lord to penetrate your heart during those silent times? Ask the Lord to renew you in body, mind, and spirit for the arduous work of discipleship. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Next Saturday evening, 28 July, our Knights of Colum-bus will be attending the 5:00 PM Mass as a Council. Then after the Mass, they will hold their annual Instal-lation of Officers.

Parish Schedule Change
Due to Sealcoating & Restriping of Parking Lots
Having slurry sealed our parking lots last year, they need to be seal coated this year (then not for two to three years). This means our parking areas will not be accessible on the work days (Thursday and Friday, 26–27 July). Because of this, all activities at the parish have been can-celed, and there will not be the regularly sched-uled 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM Masses on Thursday (26 July) nor the 8:00 AM Mass on Friday (27 July). We anticipate that the parking areas will be accessible by the time of the 5:00 PM Mass that Friday, and so are not canceling it.

Car Wash Next Sunday, 29 July
Support St. Cyril Youth by having your car washed during Mass next Sunday. The St. Cyril Youth are raising funds to sup-port their participation in various events at other parishes in the Diocese of Tucson and their annual retreat in November.

CPR and AED Training at the Parish
If a cardiac medical emergency happens would you be able to assist the person with CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), or, if one were available, with an AED (automated external defibrilla-tor)? If your answer to either of these questions is “no”, you have one more opportunity to change your answer this month.
Our Knights of Columbus Council, in collaboration with Save-A-Life Foundation and Tucson Fire Department, will host CPR and AED training in Nicholson Hall next Sunday following the 8 AM Mass:

Development Corner En el Área del Desarrollo
The St. Cyril Development Board strongly supports Stand Up For Kids. This program is a non-profit group that reaches out to homeless kids. Tucson has many homeless kids who need our help. The kids are really struggling during this hot weather. The most needed items are bottled water and fruit cups. Other primary needs are hand wipes, granola bars, juice boxes and pudding cups. Small hygiene items are always needed. If you can help with any of these things please contact Mary Ann at the Parish Office.

Our St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Birthday!!
Our St. Cyril SVdP Society is celebrating a birthday! On July 29, 1957 we were aggregated (recognized as a St. Vincent de Paul Conference) 61years ago.
During the month of June we had 370 visitors to the pantry, and 160 were homeless. We gave out 600 bags of food and 400 diapers. We made 12 home visits to deliver food to the home-bound and assisted with rent and utility service. We are not able to help everyone, but we do what we can with available funds. Thank you for supporting our mission to serve the needy in our Parish boundaries.

¡Nuestra Sociedad de SVdP de San Cirilo festeja un cumpleaños! El 29 de julio, 1957 fuimos agregados (reconocidos como Conferen-cia de San Vicente de Paul) hace 61 años.
Durante el mes de junio tuvimos 370 visitantes en la despensa, 160 de ellos no tienen hogar. Repartimos 600 bolsas de comida y 400 panales. Visitamos 12 casas para repartir comida a los confi-
nados en sus hogares y asistimos con rentas y servicio de utilidades. No podemos ayudar todos, pero hacemos lo que podemos con los fondos disponibles. Gracias por apoyar nuestra misión de servir a la gente necesitada en los límites de nuestra Parroquia.

Religious Education Registration for the 2018–19 Catechetical year will be the first weekend in August (4 and 5 August).
Catechesis for First Reconciliation and First Commun-ion are offered to children of eight years of age and old-er. Children should be encouraged to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation freely and regularly. Reconciliation precedes the preparation for and celebration of First Communion.
Children must attend weekly classes and may not exceed three absences. In excess of three absences may prevent them from receiving the Sacrament that year.
