Remember, you are welcome to join fellow parishioners every Sunday from 9-10 A.M. in the Fr. Severin Life Center for fellowship, donuts & coffee!

Dear Parishioners, I would like to announce that beginning in July Jonathan Higgins will be joining our staff. Jonathan will work as our music director and coordinator of our youth ministry and education.

Currently, Jonathan is finishing his degree at the University of Dayton. His name might be familiar to some of you as he is a graduate of Scecina High School and his family is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Irvington. I had the pleasure of working with Jonathan while I was at Scecina. He has a tremendous amount of experience leading and working with people making liturgies beautiful and prayerful. He has been very involved in youth ministry not only in his parish and at Scecina, but also in serving the diocese at Homeland Mission. Further, he has led service trips at the high school and college level. Jonathan is eager to begin work here at St. Michael and I am excited that he has accepted the position. Please keep Jonathan in your prayers as he finishes school and joins our St. Michael family.

Sincerely,

Father Aaron

Our cohort parish, Saint Simon, is hosting Archabbott Lambert to give a talk on reconciliation and hear confessions. Archabbot Lambert will speak on Saturday, March 5th at 10:00 A.M. to give a reflection on the Mercy of God, followed by opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with the Archabbot or other confessors. Archabbott Lambert has been commissioned to serve as a Missionary of Mercy during the Jubilee Year of Mercy. St. Simon’s parish extends a warm invitation to the members of St. Michael to attend.

St. Michael’s Senior Adult Ministry will be providing supper on Friday, March 11th, for the Youth’s Passiontide Retreat. Volunteers are needed to provide food and help serve and clean up. If you are over 55 and interested in supporting the parish youth

ministry please contact Jo Felker at: [email protected]. Our Senior Ministry has been busy the past month making blankets for the Brandywine Golden Living Nursing Home… Thank you!

This Friday, March 4th is First Friday, there will be no adoration following the 8:15 A.M. Mass. On the following Friday, March 11th, Adoration will follow the 8:15 A.M. Mass and signal the beginning of our 40 Hour Devotion, Passiontide. (Read more about Passiontide, March 11th & 12 below) On March 5th, First Saturday, Devotions will be at 8:30 A.M. and Mass will follow at 9 A.M. There will be no Benediction. On Friday evening, March 4th at 7 P.M. the St. Michael 7th Graders will present their annual passion play in the church. Everyone is encouraged to attend. The 7th grade has worked diligently preparing for this presentation. Also, Friday, March 4th is our last parish Lenten Fish Fry. It is from 5- 7 P.M. and hosted by Gary Warner.

Our 40 Hour Devotion begins with Adoration on Friday, March 11th, following the 8:15 A.M. Mass. Adoration continues throughout the night and concludes with Benediction at 4 P.M. before the 5 P.M. Mass on Saturday, March 12th. (Youth Ministry please see page 4 for information.) DETAILS: Confessions will be available on Friday from 5-7 P.M. and on Saturday 9-11 A.M. and 1-3 P.M. Benediction is at 4 P.M. (No confessions at the usual 4-4:30 P.M. time period due to Benediction.) During the Passiontide, March 11 & 12, you are encouraged to make a visit to church and spend time in thoughtful prayer. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity by going to confession and participating in Adoration and Benediction. This is a beautiful and prayerful way to continue your journey through Lent. (Several priests will be available to hear confessions at the above times.)
