PLEASE REMEMBER TO LABEL ALL CLOTHES AND OTHER BELONGINGS!

An optional laundry service is included in the cost for all students.
Dry cleaning and special treatments for delicate clothes are not available.
Please label all clothing with the student’s name.
Please note Kings shall not be liable for student property that is damaged or missing during the
laundry process. Student clothing is laundered by Kings at the students’ own risk.
Accommodation
The accommodation at Farringtons is modern, simple and comfortable.
The accommodation is arranged in separate boarding houses, with most students
accommodated in twin rooms.
Rooms do not have locks, for safety reasons. Therefore we would advise students not to bring
items of great value and to bring locks for their suitcases in order to provide a safer storage
area. Please note that Kings cannot accept responsibility for any items left in the student’s
bedroom. Remember: students are able to place their money in the school bank.
Staff area also accommodated in each boarding house to supervise children at night and to help
to make sure that no children are scared or homesick at night.
Bathrooms
Communal bathrooms are situated in each accommodation area.
Boys and girls have separate bathrooms.
Lesson Times
Students will have lessons in the mornings and sports/activities in the afternoon.
Student Bank
Kings operates a Student Bank where students can leave pocket money (sterling only) and their
passports and airline tickets.
The Bank is open at least 3 times per week for students to take out / pay in their money.
KINGS IS ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MONEY WHICH IS DEPOSITED IN THE STUDENT BANK.
Kings cannot look after items such as cameras, i-pods, laptops, etc. and these are the students’
responsibility at all times.
Foreign Money
Please note that Kings is not insured to hold foreign currency in the Student Bank.
We cannot change foreign currency and students are responsible for changing their money
before they arrive in England.
PLEASE BRING POCKET MONEY ONLY IN BRITISH POUNDS STERLING. We recommend students
bring an amount of £50 per week pocket money for treats and gifts.
5
Sending Extra Pocket Money
In an emergency, parents can send extra money to their children. To do this, please email
Kings Summer ([email protected]) for instructions.
Telephoning
It is not possible to speak to students during lesson times or during activity times.
Students are welcome to bring their own mobile telephones but they are responsible for looking
after them. If bringing a mobile phone, please remember to bring a UK adaptor for the charger.
Please put the student’s name on both the phone and the charger.
Kings sells UK SIM cards.
Students will have access to email and internet at least 3 times per week and can receive and
send emails using hotmail, yahoo, etc.
Limited Wi-Fi access is also available in most part of the school.
Fire
There are regular fire evacuation practices.
Illness and Medical Treatment
If a student feels ill, they must tell their group leader or a member of staff immediately.
There is always at least one trained first-aider on site.
If a student has a cold or minor illness, we will arrange for the student to go to the pharmacy
for advice and medicine.
For more serious illnesses or where advised by the pharmacy, we will arrange for the student to
visit a doctor.
If a student has an accident or is seriously ill, we will arrange for them to go to hospital.
IMPORTANT – if a student has a medical condition such as asthma or an allergy, please inform
the school in writing at the time of booking (the student should also bring a note with details of
their illness with them).
IMPORTANT – if a student requires a particular medicine, please ensure that the student brings
the medicine with them to school and Kings is notified in writing in advance; also please ensure
that the student brings a note (in English) with details of their medication and that the student
informs Kings staff.
IMPORTANT - students from Europe should bring an up-to-date EHIC card to ensure that they
receive free medical treatment (there will be a charge for medicines). All students should
ensure that they have adequate medical / travel insurance. This can be booked through Kings if
you wish.

At the Airport:
If the student is booked with the airline as an unaccompanied minor, it is VERY IMPORTANT to
inform us in advance.
Students will be met at the Airport by a Kings guide or an appointed Driver.
Students should look for a sign which says “Kings Farringtons Summer Centre”
If a student cannot find the Kings guide or appointed Driver, the student should go to the
Airport Information Desk and show the staff a copy of their Kings Confirmation Letter. At
Heathrow students should look for a Passenger Ambassador (people wearing purple jackets). In
this situation, it is important not to panic and remain within the terminal building. Airports are
big and busy, but Kings has been collecting students for many years. We will look after them!
We advise all students to travel with the following documents:
Passport (with Visa if required), ID card is sufficient for EU students
Kings Letter of Consent to Travel (to be completed by parents)
Kings Booking Confirmation Letter
For flight delays or other travel emergencies, please telephone the Travel emergency number:
+44 7421 420 020.

The Discipline Procedure is as follows:

addition their group leader will be informed and the student may receive a punishment such as
missing an activity or being given extra homework to complete.
3. Third Warning – if the student behaves badly once again, they will be sent to the Centre Manager
and they will receive a third written warning and may be given another punishment such as missing
