BachelorofCommerce-BusinessAdministration/HonoursBusinessAdministrationDegreeCompletionProgramThroughthisagreement,SouthwesternUniversityofFinanceandEconomics(SWUFE)andtheUniversityofWindsoroffer a 1+3 collaborative program (“Program”) for undergraduate students (“Students”). Studentswill study oneyearatSWUFEfollowedbyathreeyearsofstudyorsix(6)semestersattheUniversityofWindsor. Studentswillnormally study 5 courses each semester for a total of 10 courses for one academic year at the University ofWindsor.UponcompletingthestudyattheUniversityofWindsorandachievingtherequiredacademicstandardsforgraduation,StudentswillreceivetheUniversityofWindsor’sHonoursBachelorofCommercedegreeinBusinessAdministration.ForStudentstobeacceptedintothe2ndyearoftheProgramattheUniversityofWindsor(UW),theymustmeetthefollowingrequirements:1.AcademicStandardStudentsshall complete the requiredcoursesasspecified inAppendixA,earn the requiredcreditatSWUFE,andstudyatleastoneyearattheStudyAbroadInstituteofSWUFE.Studentsmustachieveaminimumof70%average(orequivalent)oftherequiredcoursestobeeligibleforadmissiontotheProgramatUW;transfercreditswillonlybegrantedforcourseswithgradesof70%(orequivalent)andhigher.2.LanguageSkillsStudentsmustprovideproofofrequiredminimumgradeonanacceptedEnglishlanguagetestbyoneoftheoptionsbelow:

2) Thechangeistoalignitwithother6-creditcoursesattheundergraduatelevel.Somestudentsintheprogramdoathesis intheirmajorconcentration(Biology,Chemistry,Biochemistry,andPsychology).Todatestudentshavereplacedthe56-420coursewithanotherfourthyearcourseintheirmajor,whileatthesametimedoingthe6-credit thesis.Thishasresulted innumerouscourseequivalencyexceptions.Byhavinga6-creditcoursewe can also change the major concentration requirement and allow for a more seamless integration ofundergraduatethesisoption,regardlessofthemajor.

This course provides an opportunity forstudentstolearnaboutcurrentissuesinpsychologyandlawinmoredepththanthebriefintroductionthatstudentsget in earlier,more introductory courses. It also provides students with the chance to gain a greater breadth ofknowledgeaboutthedifferentbranchesofpsychology.Furthermore,thiscourseisoneofthefew4thyearcourseswithin the department that provide studentswith a smaller seminar experience. Althoughwe do not offer thesesmallercoursesfrequently,weneedtohaveavarietyofthesecourseoptionswhenweareabletoofferthem.Otherthan the two intro psych courses, 46-433 has non-specific Psychology course prerequisites, which allow studentsmoreflexibility forchoosingcoursesfortheir4thyearrequirement(manyofour4thyearofferingsrequirespecificcoursesasprerequisites).46-475PopularLiteratureinPsychologyThiscourseisalsoa4thyearcourseoptionforstudentswhomaynothavethespecificprerequisitesfortheother4thyearcoursesthatweofferinagivensemester.Thisuniquecourseallowsstudentstohavetheopportunitytoapplytheirknowledgeofpsychologicalprinciples learned inotherclassesbycriticallyexaminingpopular literatureaboutpsychology.Assuch,itfulfillsoneofourdepartment’sgoalsofteachingappliedpsychology.

46-685BriefPsychodynamicTherapyPsychotherapyIThis course focuses on the acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to practice brief psychodynamictherapy. In terms of systems of psychotherapy, sStudents are will be instructed in a brief psychodynamicpsychotherapy (BPP) one of the main relational approaches such as, but not limited to, the Core ConflictualRelationship Thememethod (CCRT) through readings, didactic training, and role playing. The chosen relationalapproach is to be specified by the instructor at the time of course selection by students. Readings on theory ofpersonality included elements of classical theory, object relations, and self-psychology. Each student leads onseminar andone classdiscussionona selectionof tests, and initiates supervisedpsychotherapywithoneor twoclients according to the relational approach chosen by the instructor.
