This course provides an opportunity forstudentstolearnaboutcurrentissuesinpsychologyandlawinmoredepththanthebriefintroductionthatstudentsget in earlier,more introductory courses. It also provides students with the chance to gain a greater breadth ofknowledgeaboutthedifferentbranchesofpsychology.Furthermore,thiscourseisoneofthefew4thyearcourseswithin the department that provide studentswith a smaller seminar experience. 46-685BriefPsychodynamicTherapyPsychotherapyIThis course focuses on the acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to practice brief psychodynamictherapy. In terms of systems of psychotherapy, sStudents are will be instructed in a brief psychodynamicpsychotherapy (BPP) one of the main relational approaches such as, but not limited to, the Core ConflictualRelationship Thememethod (CCRT) through readings, didactic training, and role playing. The chosen relationalapproach is to be specified by the instructor at the time of course selection by students. Readings on theory ofpersonality included elements of classical theory, object relations, and self-psychology. Each student leads onseminar andone classdiscussionona selectionof tests, and initiates supervisedpsychotherapywithoneor twoclients according to the relational approach chosen by the instructor.
