The Sure Grip In-Line Diode Pack fits all handles

or wiring harnesses to protect switches againstdestructive voltage surges. The In-Line DiodePack provides efficient surge suppressionprotection for your control handle to ensuremaximum switch life. Simple solder connectionsensure trouble-free life and allow the DiodePack to be installed anywhere on the wiringharness. A tough two piece molded caseprotects the diode board and makes installationquick and easy. Diode Boards are furnished withdiodes to protect up to 12 switches. Specialdiode board configurations can be supplied thatwill operate a diverter valve or replace otherrelay logic. Consult factory for details.

Diodes must be installed to protect switches from damaging inductive kickback produced by solenoid orrelay coils when the switch is released (turned off).

The Diode Pack would typically be installed in a convenient location on the cable leading from the controlhandle. Being careful not to cut any of the wires, remove 3 1/2" of the outer jacket from the cable. Identifywhich wires are from the switches and lay them onto the circuit card. Mark the wires where they will be

attached to the terminal posts.

Strip about 1/4" of insulation from the wires where they are marked. Insert the wires into the terminal postsand solder. (You can lightly crimp the wire into the terminal to help hold it in place while soldering.)Connect the ground lead to complete the installation.

Use Press to insert terminals into diode board as required. Solder terminals and cut off excess terminal.

Install diodes as shown and solder. Cut off excess wire.

Unless specified otherwise, install diode pack 3 feet from Test End.Being careful not to cut any of the wires, of the outer

jacket from the cable.. Mark the wires with a felt pen

where they will be attached to the terminal posts.

Using the hand wire stripper, strip about 1/4 of insulation from thewires where they are marked. Insert the wires into the terminalposts and solder.

A 3 black/white ground wire must be installed onto the groundterminal and exited out the case.
