Mayor Bill Frommelt presided with Austin Greve, Fred Schaub, Jane Parker, Mick Pierce, and Virginia Saeug- ling. Absent: None. Iowa Code Section 21.8 provides that a governmental entity may conduct a meeting by electronic means where such a meeting in person is impossible or impractical. A public meeting was not possible due to restric- tions set by the Governor’s office regarding gatherings/meeting of more than 10 people. Instructions on how people could join the meeting electronically were included on the council meeting agendas that were posted online and at city hall. The meeting was also aired on local cable Channel 6. Guests rotating in council chambers Jean Green, Peter Holt, Mike Tujetsch, Heath Hockenberry, Joe Blanchard and Duane Wepking. Parker made a motion to approve the Agenda. Schaub seconded. Ayes: Greve, Schaub, Pierce, Saeugling and Parker. Nays: 0. Motion carried. Discussed Insurance RFPS. Jean Green and Pete with IA Insurance pre- sented her RFP. Mike Tujetsch and Heath Hockenberry with Jester/EMC pre- sented their RFP. Schaub made a motion to approve Tujetsch Agency for City Insurance. Parker seconded. No Roll Call Vote. Schaub made a motion to table until June 8, 2020 meeting in order to get some questions answered. Pierce seconded. Ayes: Greve, Schaub, Pierce, Saeugling and Parker. Nays: 0. Motion carried. Discussed the swimming pool project. Duane Wepking and Mr. Joe Blanchard with Burbach Aquatics, Inc were present to explain the issue with the cracked pipe in manhole #1 at the pool. Repairs are scheduled to start on June 1, 2020. Further discussion will be held at June 8, 2020 meeting. Jane Parker left meeting at 8:50 PM. New Business: Discussed the Palmer House Property petition by city for title to abandoned property. An update from city attorney will be given at 6/8/2020 council meeting on the status. Delaware County Conser- vation campgrounds are now open. Due to COVID-19, Dela- ware County Conservation announced changes for campground operations at Baileys Ford, Turtle Creek, Twin Bridges, Cof- fins Grove and Fountain Springs. A self-registration sys- tem will be in effect start- ing the week of June 8. Registration envelopes and drop boxes will be located at the informa- tion kiosk and each park. Delaware County Conservation campgrounds reopen Registration must be done within one hour of placing your camping unit on a campsite. Social distancing is encouraged everywhere during these times. Keep six feet between you and other campers. Wear a mask when social distanc- ing can't be maintained. Electric and water ser- vice is on. Dump stations are open. There is no fire- wood sales. Shelters and playgrounds are open. La- trines are open and they can be used at your own risk. It is encouraged that campers and visitors come with their own sanitizer. We are doing a theme each week starting May 18 thru the week of Aug. 3. The bags will be available each Monday at 1 p.m. in the library. Carol Walthart, direc- tor of the Colesburg Pub- lic Library, organized a unique summer reading program this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Colesburg Public Library is offering "grab-and-go" bags each week filled with educa- tional activity sheets, and craft items for youngsters to enjoy during these chal- lenging times. There approximately 68 bags prepared each week for youngsters. Packets are designed for different age groups, ranging from age one to the sixth grade. Each week has a dif- ferent them. The summer program started May 18 and lasts until Aug. 10. Dairy producers across Iowa have a new way of receiving information, thanks to a new podcast launched by dairy spe- cialists with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. “Dairy News & Views from Iowa State Univer- sity” began recording in April, featuring timely topics related to the COV- ISU Extension dairy podcast for producers amid COVID-19 ID-19 pandemic and dairy production in general. The podcasts are re- corded every two weeks, and feature commentary by ISU Extension and Outreach dairy specialists Jennifer Bentley and Fred Hall, in conversation with other Iowa State dairy in- dustry experts. Each episode is about 15-20 minutes and is avail- able on the ISU Extension and Outreach dairy team website, and producers can also subscribe to the free podcast on iTunes and Spotify. Past episodes are archived, so listeners can tune in whenever they choose. Bentley said the pod- casts include a lot of CO- VID-19 topics, but are also another way of discussing common concerns in the dairy industry, in a way that she hopes will offer some new perspective. It was a bright sunshiny day on the course for ladies golf league on June 3.
