5912 timebox presentation logistics
• Led by 2-3 students of a game group• Every student must present at least twice
• Between 15-25 minutes long• Themed as giving shareholders a progress update
• State who you are• State what your team accomplished• State any technical problems encountered• State plans for the next timebox
• Bring a printout of the slides for the course instructor to write feedback on

General presentation advice
• In the introduction, state • What is the problem? • Why is it important? • How is the problem addressed? • (For timebox presentations this would be marketing your game to the class, which is
optional)
• To explain complex ideas or data, use the Particular General Particular (or PGP) method • Demo your game an discuss easily understood content (gameplay)• Go through a slideset with an overview game logic and the implementation• Demo again and point out examples of the technical features

General presentation advice
• Practice giving the talk once beforehand• Ensures all team members materials can be included• Can catch nervous ticks or word repetition• Timing will be very important for the technology talks
• Set up early• Plugging in one of your laptops• The podium touchpad and projector user interface take some getting used to
• Finish early when possible• Allows for questions• Ending on a high note will leave the audience wanting more

5912 technology team presentation logistics• Led by all students of a technology team
• Larger teams may be split into two presentations/teams
• Between 45-50 minutes long• Themed as a meeting of a 3000 or 4000 level CSE class• Presentation format varies
• Survey of algorithms/techniques• Explaining code samples• Tutorials or demonstrations
• Bring a printout of the slides for the course instructor to write feedback on

5912 technology team presentation objective• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the topic
• Demonstrate the ability to think and communicate like:• a scientist
• Provide enough details for your algorithm (or in this case the one you learned on your own) to be implemented by another expert
• or an engineer• Provide a thorough examination of two or more ways to solve a problem so that another
expert can select the better solution for a given set of constraints
