The award recognizes a student who demonstrates initiative in promoting international trade in their community, college or university through leadership, academic excellence or as an ambassa- dor for international trade professionals or students. The winner of this prestigious award will join FITT in Gatineau, QC on June 7 th and 8 th at FITT’s 14 th National Conference to be formally presented the award at the FITT Awards Ceremony. EligibilityThis award is open to students or recentgraduates of a full-time international businessprogram at one of FITT’s recognized EducationalPartners. Students must have been enrolled orgraduated between January 1, 2010 andDecember 31, 2010. A list of the recognizedEducational Partners and eligible accreditedcourses and programs is available at:www.fitt.ca.

Winner SelectionNominations will be reviewed by a panel ofCertified International Trade Professionals(CITP). Submissions will be evaluated only onthe information requested on the nominationform and the 2 letters of reference. Additionalinformation will not be presented.

DeadlinesCompleted nomination forms must be submittedto FITT no later than 3:00pm EST February 28th,2011. Only applications that are complete, meetall requirements as outlined and are receivedby the deadline will be reviewed. The winnerwill be notified by March 31st, 2011.

PrizeWinners will receive transportation, from the nearest Canadian city, accommodation and full conference registration (which includes all sessions, conference meals and breaks) to attend FITT's 14th National Conference in Gatineau, QC on June 7th and 8th, 2011. The winner will be formally recognized and presented with the award at the FITT AwardsCeremony held on June 7th.

Nomination Process1. Complete Nomination Form

a. Nominator must be/have been one of the nominees international business instructors;

b. Nominee and Nominator must sign the Nomination Form.

2. Respond to the Nomination Questionsa. Each answer should be typewritten, double

spaced;b. Answers to each question should not exceed

250 words.

3. Include 2 letters of referencea. Each letter should be typewritten, single-spaced;b. Letters should be no more than 1 page in length;c. References can not be family members or related

to you by blood lines or marriage;d. Reference checks may be carried out;e. Letter of Reference #1 – must be or have been

one of the nominees international business professors. This individual must be familiar with the nominees academic performance. The lettermust include statements that they have met or exceeded all academic and program expectationsto date;

f. Letter of Reference #2 – must be from an individualwho is familiar with your activities in promoting international business. The letter must include how the individual knows the nominee as well as describe the type of activities and the impactof the international business activities completedby the nominee.

4. Provide the following support documentation:a. Legible photocopy of your full-time student card;b. Confirmation letter from your institution indicating

that you were enrolled in a full-time FITTskills or FITT accredited international business program between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010. A complete list of FITTskillsand FITT accredited courses and programs is available at: www.fitt.ca.

5. Gather all required documents in one complete package and send:
