Photojournalism

Photojournalism began in Germany, 1925. The invention of the 35mm camera, the Leica, made this possible as it was light weight and didn’t require bulky equipment. Germany also was the first country to have a photojournalism magazine.

Photojournalism is a type of journalism that

is used to present a photo for publication

and broadcast. They are used to illustrate and

sometimes tell a story.

With the development of photography equipment the way potrait photographs are taken has changed alot. As now good photos can be taken with less exposer time the ‘model’ does not have to sit still for a period of time make the picture better quality and more natural.

Landscape

Landscape photography is mainly used for art.

Landscape photos do not usually have anybody in the pictures. This is to make the photo seem as natural as possible.

These are a few examples of landscape photos, they are all the land and have no human presence. There is always a Foreground and Background to a landscape photo.

A great landscape photographer is Ansel Adams.

They are used to capture beautiful or destructive places for the purpose of art.
