FLORIADE : REIMAGINED AND THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL
Following breakfast, we’re off to experience Floriade: Reimagined. The flowers that would have been in Commonwealth Park as part of the annual Floriade Festival have been distributed around Canberra so visitors can still enjoy the vibrancy of Floriade. To extend the celebration of Floriade: Reimagined in Canberra, community organisations were able to apply and receive an allocation of bulbs and annuals to plant and grow. So there’s going to be no shortage of Spring colour! Lunch is at our own expense today. This afternoon we have time to visit the National Gallery and Portrait Gallery before visiting the National War Memorial.
Lunch at own expense and arrangement OVERNIGHT: The Canberra Rex Hotel, CANBERRA
CANBERRA TO ALBURY
Today we visit Telstra Tower, which rises 195 metres above the summit of Black Mountain providing 360 degree views of Canberra and the surrounding countryside. Also this morning we enjoy a wander through the Australian National Botanical Gardens before we travel out to the famous world in miniature “Cockington Green”. Cockington Green is one of Canberra’s landmark attractions and offers visitors a unique experience. We will see a delightful display of meticulously crafted miniature buildings set within beautifully landscaped gardens. We can purchase lunch here or at the shops adjacent. This afternoon we board the coach and travel down to Albury for our last night together.
