I sent out Open House information emails yesterday to all parents.

If you did not receive an email from one of us, please change your email address in Home Access Center.

Edmodo will be for students only…but we encourage parents to monitor computer use.

Remind will be used for tests and quizzes. The number to join is on the Brochure. (Please make sure you have your student’s teacher’s brochure)

Access Teacher Web for this Class

The ISN (Interactive Science Notebook) is a vital part of the science classroom. All information is placed in this notebook. It is very important that your child maintain this notebook and keep it organized daily. The ISN will be used as a textbook and will contain all the information needed to be successful on tests, quizzes, class work and homework. It must come to science class every day!

Time will be given during class and advisory to help organize ISN.

A new notebook will be used every 6 week period.

Interactive Science Notebook(ISN)

Homework will be assigned when it is needed, including studying for tests.

We encourage the use of a planner or a system that works best for your child!

Late Homework will NOT be accepted!

Tutorials are available for any student. Mon – Thurs 2:40 – 3:10 and Tues 6:45 – 7:15.

HOMEWORK

2 days for every day that is absent to turn in work.

It is the responsibility of your child to collect and complete any work that he/she missed) and turn in a timely manner.

If further assistance is needed…students may come during Advisory- Must have permission from BOTH teachers.

Absences

If your child is having issues with homework, you can access the Calendar feature on the Science Teacher Website. (instructions to the Teacher website will be given on this presentation) Your child can access a Calendar on his/her Edmodo account or the calendar in their ISN.

You may also access the Document feature on the Teacher Website. This feature allows you to download and print all assignments that are presented in class.

What can I do if my child is having HOMEWORK issues?

According to the KISD Grading Policy Handbook:

Other: HW & Class work 15%

Minor: Quizzes & Labs 40%

Major: Tests 45% (2)
