611 – Geometric Construction Project Name: _______________________________ 34 points Due Thursday March 2, 2017 Complete ONE of the following constructions Construction A – simplest construction. A perfect construction will earn 30 points. Construction B – involves more construction parts. A perfect construction will earn 34 points. Construction C – the most complicated. A perfect construction will earn 36 points. Your construction will be graded using the rubric provided. FINAL PROJECT – on Thursday March 2, turn-in a stapled packet consisting of: • Cover page that includes your name • Page 1: A page (plain sheet of white paper) including your design with construction arcs (this should be a copy of your design prior to coloring) o Label all points in your design with letters o If helpful, label each arc with lower case letters are numbers o Your main design should be outlined darkly o Construction arcs should be clear but drawn more lightly • Page 2: A page (or more) that includes the steps used to create your design o Type this if possible, or WRITE IT NEATLY o Number all steps in the order that you did them. o CLEARLY indicate in your write up where each of the different constructions are included. o Include appropriate geometry notation in your steps (lines, segments, rays, etc.) o Description of any symmetry in your design. • Page 3: Your finished, colored construction

FINAL PROJECT – on Thursday March 2, turn-in a stapled packet consisting of: • Cover page that includes your name • Page 1: A page (plain sheet of white paper) including your design with construction arcs (this should be a copy of your design prior to coloring)

o Label all points in your design with letters o If helpful, label each arc with lower case letters are numbers o Your main design should be outlined darkly o Construction arcs should be clear but drawn more lightly

• Page 2: A page (or more) that includes the steps used to create your design o Type this if possible, or WRITE IT NEATLY o Number all steps in the order that you did them. o CLEARLY indicate in your write up where each of the different constructions are included. o Include appropriate geometry notation in your steps (lines, segments, rays, etc.) o Description of any symmetry in your design.

Neatness/Asthetics Construction is neat, arcs are light, final figure is clearly outlined and noticeable effort is applied to creating a colorful final product.

Construction is neat, arcs are light, final figure is clearly outlined and noticeable some effort is applied to creating a colorful final product.

Construction arcs are visible but may be dark and make it difficult to distinguish final figure. Some effort is applied to creating a colorful final product.

Few construction arcs are visible and/or final figure is not distinguishable. Little effort is applied to creating a colorful final product.
