My dear friends in Christ,

Next weekend is Pledge Sunday for the Annual Catholic Appeal throughout the Diocese of Trenton. Each year the Bishop seeks the support of all of the members of the diocese to further the work of our ministries. Each of us has a vital part in all we do in Christ’s name, and each of us can share in all we do with a gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Our single Act of Faith propels the works of love that build up our Church. You make that happen with a heartfelt and generous gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal.

This year Corpus Christi Parish’s share of the goal is $70,000.

As the people of the Diocese of Trenton, you have the opportunity to help others see Christ working in our midst. I ask you to take a moment and truly reflect on any help you can give. We truly need everyone to participate. This year the Diocese, once again, is striving to reach a goal of $7 million. What’s important to note is that when a parish collects funds equal to their goal, they receive a 15% rebate. Funds collected in excess of the parish goal will earn a 50% rebate. A parish that increases their participation by at least ten percent will receive an additional 5% rebate. I am always grateful and moved by the level of support you give to our parish. I thank you for this support, and may God continue to bless you and your family.

First Reconciliation Parent Meeting February 21, 2017, 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Bogdan Hall

As part of our parish preparation, we invite the parents of our First Reconciliation students to join us for this important informational meeting. In addition to information, you will receive materials and suggestions for family involvement in the preparation process. During this session we will also share prayer and try to renew and deepen our own appreciation of this wonderful Sacrament.

2017 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL … IN ACTION!

Catholic Schools in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties welcome approximately 17,000 Catholic and non-Catholic students from many different cultural backgrounds. Parents, as the primary educators of their children, work in partnership with teachers to develop their children’s potential in becoming life-long learners. Donations to the ACA help to ensure that curriculum and performance standards and development of educators continue at a high level within our 31 Catholic elementary schools and 7 high schools.

FAITH TO MOVE MOUNTAINS UPDATE

We have just received our second Diocesan rebate check based on your sacrificial gifts to the Faith to Move Mountains Campaign. Our total pledge to date is $665,105 with a balance remaining of $488,737.08 over a three to five year pledge period. Our parish goal was $755,000. We were $89,895 short of our goal. It’s never too late to close this gap and make a final pledge. Pledge Cards are still available in the Sacristy. Faith to Move Mountains was a one-time campaign designed to strengthen the long term future of our Diocese. It is not to be confused with the Annual Catholic Appeal which will be introduced in the coming weeks. The monies raised for the Annual Catholic Appeal are used for the day-to-day operation of our Diocese.
