The institute celebrates National and International days and festivals by organising different

scholastic and non-scholastic activities to create awareness and educate the students about

pressing issues that need national or global attention.

WORKSHOP ON REPUBLIC DAY

A “Nukkad Natak” was presented to students of Govt. Boys Senior Secondary School No.2, Kalkaji

by students of NSS Club. The students also conducted a short quiz about the Constitution of India.

Additionally, the volunteers explained the meaning of National anthem to the students. The activity

was held on Friday, 24th January 2020. In all 18 NSS Volunteers participated in these activities.

The volunteers also received a certificate of appreciation for their sincere efforts.




WORLD FOOD DAY

World Food Day is celebrated on October 16 every year to raise awareness on the issues of poverty

and hunger. The NSS wing of JIMS Kalkaji distributed food items to the underprivileged and

destitute children to mark the occasion of World Food Day.




POSTER MAKING COMPETITION ON EARTH DAY

The Rotaract Club of JIMS Kalkaji conducted a “e-Poster Making competition” on the occasion

of "Earth Day". The topic of the competition was "COVID-19 quarantine: A Makeover for Mother

Nature". The best four posters were posted on social media pages of JIMS Kalkaji




GROUP DISCUSSION ON NATIONAL YOUTH DAY

The NSS wing of JIMS Kalkaji organized a group discussion for students on the topic “How to

channelize youth power for nation-building”. The activity not only helped the students to realize

their responsibility towards the nation but also enhanced their communication skills.




VISIT TO BLIND SCHOOL ON THE OCCASION OF “LOHRI”

The Rotaract Club of JIMS Kalkaji organised a visit to the Institution for Blind at Amar colony,

Lajpat Nagar on 13th January for the distribution of revari, popcorns, peanuts and gajjaks on the

occasion of “Lohri” a popular harvest festival celebrated in the northern states of India. Students

of BBA and BCOM (H) went for the visit and played cricket with the children. Students also

performed for the children and played tabla and keyboard along with the blind school children.




SWABHIMAN DIVAS

On 19th August 2019, the NSS club of JIMS Kalkaji conducted a skit to promote self respect among

the people in order to celebrate Swabhiman Divas as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th

Birth Anniversary.




ANTI-TERRORISM DAY

An activity conducted for promotion of Universal Value of ‘Non-Violence and Peace’

On the occasion of Anti-terrorism day on 21st May, the NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji created a poster

and shared it on Instagram to promote the values of non-violence and peace. Anti-Terrorism Day

is observed to mark the death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi who was

assassinated on this day in 1991.




POETRY RECITATION ON THE OCCASSION OF SADBHAWNA DIWAS

On 20th August 2019, the NSS club of JIMS Kalkaji conducted a poetry recitation in order to

celebrate Sadbhawna Diwas.

Sadbhawna Diwas/ Harmony day is observed on August 20 every year in remembrance of the

youngest Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.




EID-UL-FITR

The Rotaract club of JIMS kalkaji promoted the National festival of Eid-ul-Fitr which is marked

by the end of the Ramadan, the fasting month of muslims. Students of JIMS kalkaji created a

poster for promoting the festival of Eid on its Facebook and Instagram Page on 25th May 2020.




GLOBAL WELLNESS DAY

The Rotaract club of JIMS Kalkaji organized a ‘Fitness Regime Activity’ on Global Wellness

Day wherein students recorded videos of their daily fitness activities like yoga and muscle

building exercises. The same wee posted on Facebook




INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY

The Rotaract club of JIMS kalkaji promoted the International Day for Biological diversity on its

facebook page. Students of JIMS kalkaji created an informative video showing the significance

of bio-diversity




INTERNATIONAL MUSIC DAY

The students of Rotaract club of Kalkaji have not let their spirits dampened because of the

lockdown. On the occasion of International Music Day on 21st June, the students of JIMS Kalkaji

made their music videos of their favourite tunes. The music clips were further shared on the

facebook page of JIMS Kalkaji.




INTERNATIONAL NURSES’ DAY

On the occasion of International Nurses Day celebrated on 12th May every year, the NSS club of

JIMS kalkaji posted a video on facebook to create awareness about the significant role played by

nurses in our community. Students learned that a positive and selfless approach gives strength to

fight the toughest problems.




POEM RECITATION COMPETITION ON RABINDRA NATH TAGORE BIRTH

ANNIVERSARY

The Rotaract club of JIMS Kalkaji conducted a poem recitation competition on the occasion of

Rabindra Nath Tagore’s Birth Anniversary on 7th May 2020. The best three recitations were posted

on JIMS kalkaji facebook page.

Students learnt about the contribution of Rabindranath Tagore as a literary scholar, polymath, poet,

musician and artist, best known for writing the national anthem.




WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The Rotaract Club of BBA/B.Com (H) department created a poster to promote World Environment

Day and posted it on Facebook and Instagram on 5th Jun 2020. A webinar to mark the environment

week was also organised on 12th Jun 2020 on the topic “COVID19 and its impact on Environment”

by Mr. Bhawesh Swami, Climate Reality India.




WORLD HEALTH DAY

To bring out the creative writer inside our students during this self-isolation period, the Rotaract

club of JIMS Kalkaji organised an article writing competition on the topic 'IMPACT OF

QUARANTINE AND LOCKDOWN ON MENTAL HEALTH' on the occasion of World Health

Day on 7th April 2020.

We received many good articles but the best and winning articles were given by

Sakshi BBA IV (Morning) and Surbhi B.COM II (Evening). Their articles were posted on

Facebook.




QUIZ ON CONSTITUTION OF INDIA

The NSS club of JIMS Kalkaji successfully conducted an insightful quiz on 7th January 2020 on

the topic of Constitution Day. The quiz was conducted in every class where the students were

zealous and took an active participation in the quiz.The students gained more insight into the

constitution of India by understanding the concepts, articles and rules. Overall it turned out to

be a very informative and knowledge enriching quiz for the students.




SWACHHTA PAKHWADA

Rotaract cleanliness ambassadors took rounds in the streets of nearby locality sweeping and

picking up trash of the littered streets and parks.

Holding thought-provoking banner and brooms in their hands, the students went around lending

their voice for this social cause.
