Thank you for Chairperson Christine and Acting Sergeant Mina for their assistance for my fill in with the role of President. This week was a committee meeting session – thanks to all those that came along and joined in the discussions, which all seemed productive. Due to the under representation for some committees, some people sat in on another committee meeting of their choice and were able to give some valuable contributions. In summary: Mina reported on New Generations Committee Building relationships with local schools Maintaining contact with Canteen for updates on events our club can assist with Italian theme night in recognition of Carlo, our Long Term Youth Exchange Student Relationship with Hectorville Sports Club Ronda reported on the many activities of the Service Projects Committee: Planning for the 2013 Reel Event Christmas raffle hamper for the Sunday Market Proceeds of the Shed Barbeque Lindsay reported that the Rotary Foundation Committee are: Researching suitable projects including those that fit in with the current 'Peace' theme and the fight against Polio and Malaria Organising a Rotarian and partners dinner with the Group Study Exchange team Due to lack of time, Mark T will deliver a report on Club Visibility at our next meeting. We had time for a very quick game of heads and tales and in lieu of a Sergeant’s session, the pot was passed for all to make a donation if they thought they deserved a fine or had a happy buck raising $20.10. Congratulations to Ian Carman who has his last two tutorials today and then officially retires! I am sure we can find him lots to do to fill in his extra time! At the next meeting on Tuesday 30 th October we welcome District Governor Roy Armstrong. It would be great to have as large an attendance as possible so he can see first hand what a strong and vibrant club we have. Please Note: President Greg to notify Chairperson and Stewards before Tuesday.

First of all thank you to everyone for the warm welcome back into the fold after 8 glorious weeks on holiday.

Seems now a distant memory!!! Thank you for Chairperson Christine and Acting Sergeant Mina for their

assistance for my fill in with the role of President. This week was a committee meeting session – thanks to

all those that came along and joined in the discussions, which all seemed productive. Due to the under

representation for some committees, some people sat in on another committee meeting of their choice and

were able to give some valuable contributions. In summary:

Mina reported on New Generations Committee

 Building relationships with local schools

Maintaining contact with Canteen for updates on events our club can assist with

Italian theme night in recognition of Carlo, our Long Term Youth Exchange Student

 Relationship with Hectorville Sports Club

Ronda reported on the many activities of the Service Projects Committee:

Planning for the 2013 Reel Event

Christmas raffle hamper for the Sunday Market

 Proceeds of the Shed Barbeque

Lindsay reported that the Rotary Foundation Committee are:

Researching suitable projects including those that fit in with the current 'Peace' theme and the fight

against Polio and Malaria

Organising a Rotarian and partners dinner with the Group Study Exchange team

Due to lack of time, Mark T will deliver a report on Club Visibility at our next meeting.

We had time for a very quick game of heads and tales and in lieu of a Sergeant’s session, the pot was passed

for all to make a donation if they thought they deserved a fine or had a happy buck raising $20.10.

Congratulations to Ian Carman who has his last two tutorials today and then officially retires! I am sure we

can find him lots to do to fill in his extra time!

At the next meeting on Tuesday 30th

October we welcome District Governor Roy Armstrong. It would be

great to have as large an attendance as possible so he can see first hand what a strong and vibrant club we

have. Please Note: President Greg to notify Chairperson and Stewards before Tuesday.

Conference 25 – 28 April 2013

The Rotary District Conference is a great opportunity to:

Listen to great guest speakers on topical subjects

Learn more about Rotary and the clubs in our district

Catch up with old friends and make new ones

Spend time with your fellow club members in a more social setting

Get inspired to do great things!

We are very lucky that the 2013 Conference will be held relatively close by and I encourage all club members

to attend. Accommodation in the Barossa will be in great demand and short supply, so will need to be

booked quickly.

I will be booking accommodation for our club and if you would like to be included please let me know as

soon as possible.

See attachment with your email.

Thank you

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of a worthy enterprise and in particular to encourage and foster

The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.

High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying by every Rotarian of their occupation as an opportunity to serve

society.

The application of the ideal service by every Rotarian to their personal, business and community life.

The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of service.

The Four Way Test of the things we think, say or do:

Is it the truth? Is it Fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

For good food, good fellowship And the opportunity to serve through Rotary

…we give thanks.
