28000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Salon)

A brick was thrown through the front door glass.

Officers were dispatched to the 28000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Salon) to investigate a B & E of the business. Officers arrived and observed the front door glass broken out with a concrete brick which was on the floor inside the business. The salon manager made the scene and showed Officers a video on her cell phone of the incident. The video shows at 4:43am on 9/19/2019 a White Car pull up outside the salon. A male subject with a dark colored hoodie, brown colored cargo shorts and white gym shoes throws an object/brick thru the front door breaking the glass. The male then enters the business and proceeds directly to the front counter and moves the computer monitor and picks up the cash box and exits the business. The white vehicle then drives off. Note: Officers spoke to an employee from the business next door who advised she found a men's wallet hanging on the broken glass of the business around 7am when she arrived for work. Information was obtained from the wallet and a suspect has been developed in the incident. Incident is under further investigation.

19000 W Twelve Mile (Commercial- Cleaners)

Gray brick was thrown through front door glass.

Victim states sometime between 8:00pm and the following morning at 6:40am someone threw a Gray Brick through the front door glass and made entry into business. Once inside suspect(s) took two cash drawers containing an undisclosed amount of currency. No suspect information.

21000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Salon)

Window on the north end of business was broken out. >>>>>>>>>>>>> This is great. All Businesses should take note and never leave cash in their cash drawers! >>>>>>>>>>>>>

On 09/19/2019 Officers were dispatched to the 21000 Block of Telegraph Rd. to investigate a B&E of the business. (Salon) The owner advised he got a call from his alarm company at 12:32am. The alarm company advised there was a motion alarm at his place of business. Victim checked the video on his cell phone APP however did not see any activity and thought it was a false alarm. When victim arrived to open the salon in the morning he observed a front window on the north end of the business broken out. Victim checked his video system again and observed a heavy set black male on a bicycle sitting outside his salon about 12:30am. After several minutes, the suspect is seen breaking the window with an unknown object and then entering the business via the broken window. Once inside the business, suspect goes to the front desk area and looks thru several drawers and then leaves the building. Nothing was taken during the crime, there was no cash in the cash drawers.

Cash

R/P (Shift Leader for Business) advises when she arrived at the store at approx. 5:30am. R/P unlocked the door but was unsure if the door was already unlocked. There was no sign of forced entry. As she continued to do her normal daily activities as shift leader, she opened the safe to count the money. R/P noticed that the safe was empty. She also noticed that the envelopes for tips were empty as well. R/P notified her manager. The manager advises that she suspects a former employee that quit abruptly and never returned his keys, he also has the code for the alarm system and has a combination to the safe. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

Home Invasion:

25000 Saint James (Residential- Condo’s)

Overhead Garage Door was left open. No signs of forced entry.

Victim stated he exited his condo and went to the store in his vehicle around 7:00am. He left his large garage door open. R/P claimed the interior garage door was locked, but he was not certain if the front door to the condo was also locked. When R/P returned home a short time later, he observed a vehicle parked near his open garage. The vehicle sped off when R/P pulled up. R/P described the vehicle a silver sedan, unknown occupant(s). R/P pulled into his garage and observed a black female standing in the doorway of his interior garage door, which was open. As R/P parked his vehicle, the female exited the garage, walking past R/P and away from the residence. R/P confronted her, however she did not respond. R/P described the female as short, medium build, less than 25 years of age, wearing a white t-shirt and gray pants. R/P followed the female in his vehicle and notified police. R/P claimed he does not know the female personally but recognized her from past social gatherings. The subject was located by Officers and questioned. She denied being on R/P’s property. There was no forced entry into the residence and nothing was found missing from the residence. The suspect was identified and released pending further investigation.

21000 Sherman Ave. Screen was removed on kitchen window. No signs of forced entry on the window itself.

Victim states he left his home around 9:00am and returned around 5:00pm. He discovered someone had entered his home thru a kitchen window on the east/back side of the home. Once inside the home the suspect(s) stole a small safe and several watches from the master bedroom. During the incident, the suspect(s) forcefully removed the alarm control box off the wall in the hallway.

25000 Southwood Dr. Suspect(s) entered victim’s vehicle and used the garage door opener to enter the garage.

Victim states she was alerted by her garage door opening at 3:31am. Victim looked out and saw the interior light on in her vehicle. Victim thought it was her father and didn’t check any further. At 8:00am victim was notified by her neighbors that her vehicle and garage door were open. Victim inspected her vehicle and garage and nothing appeared to have been taken. The vehicle had been ransacked. There was a black backpack recovered adjacent to victim’s vehicle. Officers investigating developed a possible suspect or possibly another victim through a check book that was in the backpack. Incident is under investigation.

29000 Franklin Hills Dr. (Residential- Apartments)

Entry through rear door wall. No forced entry was observed.

Officers responded to Home Invasion just occurred. Victim reports that he was only gone for 20 minutes between 10:00am- 10:20am. When he returned he discovered his Flat Screen TV missing and his door wall was standing open. According to a witness (maintenance worker) he was in the south parking lot and observed a B/F carrying a T.V. The maintenance worker also noticed that the victim was on his back porch of his apartment and an unknown subject (Suspect#2) was in one of victim’s upstairs windows throwing things out the window. The female carrying the T.V then noticed him and placed the T.V down next to a small privacy fence and ran back north. She was wearing a red and white stripped shirt with blue jeans and medium length hair. The maintenance worker immediately phoned a co-worker who observed possible suspect vehicle drive away from the area with two occupants. He described the vehicle as an Older Gray Chevrolet 4-door sedan. On 09/23/2019 victim contacted our Detective Bureau and advised that her neighbor has some video of the incident. The video shows a vehicle pull up, a female gets out of the vehicle walks up to the door and into victim’s residence. Further video shows a black male, tall, no shirt, red shorts go into the residence. The female opens the trunk of the vehicle, possible a Gray Chevy Impala, and goes back into the home. Incident is under investigation.

29000 Wellington Rd. W (Residential- Condo’s)

Forced open ground level sliding window.

Victim states she was away for the day to attend a regularly scheduled weekly meeting with a friend. When she returned home she discovered her condo had been broken into. (Time Frame- Between 8:00am- 3:30pm) Victim noted that jewelry was taken from atop her dresser and hutch in the master bedroom. There was also a box in her upper master closet missing which contained an undisclosed amount of cash. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and developed evidence.

24000 W Nine Mile Rd. No signs of any forced entry.

R/P stated he discovered the back door to his residence open along with the door to the garage open when he arrived home. R/P stated the incident occurred sometime between 10:30am- 3:00pm. Note: Victims next door neighbor advised him that he observed a Black Ford Fusion in his driveway the day of the incident.

Deadbolt on apartment door was compromised.

Victim states she left her apartment at approx. 7:30am to go to work. Prior to leaving the apartment. Victim arrived back at her apartment at approx. 4:45pm. Upon entering the apartment, victim noticed that multiple closet doors in the apartment were open. Further inspection victim discovered that in her bedroom her dresser drawers and closet were ransacked. Several items of jewelry are missing from the apartment. No suspect information.

The van is owned by the R/P’s Community Church to which the R/P is a Deacon. On 09/19/2019 the vehicle was recovered in the City of Detroit. No arrests were made. The vehicle had no damage and nothing was missing.

R/P states after meeting with subject he asked to test drive the ATV. Victim allowed subject to take it for a test drive. The subject rode south of 8 Mile and never returned. Victim stated he only knew the girls for about a week and only knows them by their nick names. Suspects: 3 B/Fs in there Mid 20s. Suspect#1- 5'2, 170Lbs with braids about 24 Suspect#2- 5'2 140Lbs about 24 y.o.a. Suspect#3- No Description. The vehicle was recovered in Detroit by the registered owner. No arrests were made. The vehicle was intact. DPD Officers assisted with the recovery.

The wallet contained Cash, Michigan Driver’s License and a Debit Card. It was discovered that someone had already used her card at a Gas Station in Detroit and a Discount Store where it was declined. R/P didn’t have any information on the female suspect.

Victim states sometime between 09/17/2019 @ 9:30am- 09/18/2019 @ 7:50am someone entered her vehicle and took her Laptop, Debit Card and Driver’s license. Victim mentioned seeing a possible suspect wondering the streets between 12:00am- 1:00am. Victim described the suspect as a B/M, 38-42 years old, 6'-0”- 6' 5”, and muscular. She thinks he lives in the area of Westover and Evergreen Rd.

Undisclosed amount of cash.

Victim states on 09/18/2019 at 5:30pm she was in the 26000 Block of Twelve Mile Rd. at the Bank ATM withdrawing money from the ATM. Victim stated she took an undisclosed amount of cash from her checking account. She was on her cell phone while making the transaction. She removed her debit card from the ATM but forgot to take the money. When she arrived home, she realized she had forgotten to take her money from the ATM. Victim contacted the bank and left a message. No suspect information. Video from the bank was not available at the time of reporting.

Victim states she had met two subjects a couple weeks ago. Victim only knows the boys by their first names. On this date victim went with the two subjects into the basement of her apartment building where there is a couch & chair. They were all listening to music and recording music. Victim had set her two cell phones down on the couch. Suddenly the two subjects took her phones and fled the area. Victim provided Officers with both suspects cell phone numbers. STOLEN ITEMS: 1- 24" Snow blower. 1- 3/8 X 25' air compressor hose. 1- 15- piece accessory kit. 1- Porter Cable 6-Gal air compressor. 1- General Wire Sewer rooter drain snake. 2- Rigid K-400 drain snake. 1- General Wire kinetic water ram. 2- Nipple extractor set. 2- Chapin 100LB salt and ice melt spreader.

R/P (manager) advises that several pieces of equipment has been stolen since 09/17/2019. R/P advised the items are missing from the maintenance "shop", and were discovered missing on 09/20/2019. R/P suspects that a former employee is responsible for the larcenies. The former employee was recently terminated, but is still being seen on the property. The suspect has been identified.

27000 Greenfield Rd (Residential- Apartments)

1-AMEX Card 1-Captial One Card 1-JC Penny Card 1-Chase Debit Card 1- Red Kate Spade Purse 1- Stethoscope 1- Reflex Hammer 1-Tuning Fork Cash Miscellaneous paperwork/business cards.

Officers were dispatched to location for a LFA Complaint. Southfield Dispatch advised that a B/M wearing all black was last seen leaving the area running towards 10 Mile Rd and was possibly stealing cars. While conducting an area check, Officers observed a subject, matching the description given walking near the area of incident. Officers stopped the suspect and conducted a pat-down search of his persons. The subject was sweating profusely and had two flashlights in his possession. Officers also located a wallet on suspect’s person that contained 4 stolen credit cards all in the name of the victim that had her car broken into. All of victim’s belongings were recovered and the suspect was taken into custody for LFA.

Victim states his wallet was stolen out of his unlocked vehicle on Saturday September 21, 2019 sometime between 1:00am & 5:00am. He became aware of the theft when one of his credit card issuers contacted him about suspicious activity on his account. Stolen Items: 2 iPhones, Gold necklace, Watch, Camo Wallet, Cash, Brown Gucci fanny pack, Car Keys, 2 Michigan Drivers License's, Debit cards, Apple Air Pods.

Victims were returning home from Strip Club in Detroit and parked their car in the back of the Apartments in the 16000 Block of 9 Mile Rd. 2 B/M's wearing all black, masks and carrying an Assault Rifles walked up on them while they were getting out of the car. Both were ordered to the ground and told to empty their pockets, both complied. After both victims emptied their pockets the suspect on the passenger side looked through the vehicle and took items. The suspects then took off and got into a Black, Older Model Ford Fusion. Note: On 08/01/2019 the same type of incident occurred on Harvard St., the male victim was returning home from the same Strip Club in Detroit when 2 males approached the victim in his driveway with assault rifles. The male escaped after he drove his car through his yard to get away. Both incidents involved the victims returning home from this Strip Club, 2 B/M's wearing masks and the same older Black Model Ford Fusion was described in the first incident.

Be on the Look Out Highlights: Arrests by SPD Officers:

Special Attention: Possible Attempt Robbery & Shooting 16000 Block of Oxley Rd. (Apartments) Officers were dispatched on 09/14/2019 reference shots heard in the area of the16000 Block of Oxley Rd. Nothing was found in the search. Later on 09/14/2019 a victim arrived at hospital claiming he was shot at by unknown suspects while walking outside his residence on Oxley Rd. Victim was released and went home before officers arrived at hospital. Victim came to the Southfield Police Department on 09/19/2019 to report the incident and turn over shell casings. Victim stated he walked out of his apartment building around 2:00am to take his trash out. Victim noted multiple unknown males standing near a White Panel Van and a Tan/Silver Silverado. One of the suspects approached him wearing a ski mask and pointing a gun at him. Suspect chased victim firing multiple rounds at him. Victim fell into some bushes and injured his arm and the suspects fled the area.

Victim provided information on the suspect vehicle which is described as the following; Suspect Vehicle #1: White GMC Panel Van with paint chipped on the side, no windows, front passenger light burned out. Victim also noted that the vehicle had a loud muffler. Suspect Vehicle #2:

Possibly involved, Tan/Silver Older Silverado, Extended Cab. Victim stated these vehicles may be involved in LFA’s and air conditioner thefts and has seen the vehicles previously.

Special Attention: School Disturbance 09/16/2019 2:22pm 21000 Block of Evergreen Rd. (SRAC School) SRAC School Liaison Officer reported a large fight in the school parking lot. He requested extra Officers to respond and assist. A total of 6 subjects were arrested for School Disturbance.

Felony Warrant Arrest & Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia- 2- Arrests 09/17/2019 11:49pm 8 Mile Rd & Lahser Rd. Officers were investigating two suspicious white males that were observed crossing 8 Mile Rd out of the area of any marked crosswalks. During Officers investigation, it was discovered that one of the subjects had a Felony Probation Warrant for Retail Fraud out of Wayne County. The warrant was confirmed and Wayne County advised they would pick up subject from the Southfield Jail. The second subject who was stopped, immediately made admissions to Officers that he had narcotics paraphernalia on his person and opened his hand showing a syringe and clear glass pipe used to smoke crack cocaine. He then informed Officers he did not have any “dope” on him, and consented to a search. Nothing was found during the search. Note: This subject is known to Officers from multiple previous contacts for drug overdoses and warrant arrests. This subject lives on 8 ½ Mile Rd. in Southfield. This subject is also a suspect in a recent Attempt LFA that occurred on 09/13/2019, 6:15am in the 21000 Block of Midway. Nothing was taken but things were rummaged through and moved around in vehicle. He was taken into custody this date for Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.

Domestic F/A- 1- Arrest

09/21/2019 11:00pm 29000 Block of Pinetree Dr. Officers were dispatched to location on 9/22/2019 to conduct a welfare check on a male subject. The male had three puncture wounds to his arm and said that his wife had stabbed him with a pair of scissors the night before. The male and female were arguing and the argument became physical when the female stabbed the male. The female subject was arrested and lodged.

Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Then Murder. 09/17/2019 5:39pm 25000 Block of Muerland On September 17, 2019 at 5:41pm Officers were dispatched to the 25000 Block of Muerland for an Assault Investigation. A 63-year-old victim was found unconscious and covered in blood. The 31-year-old suspect was still on scene. The victim and suspect are neighbors and were involved in an argument over a ladder and the trimming of a tree. The suspect assaulted the victim and knocked him to the ground rendering the victim unconscious. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was admitted for the treatment of his injuries. The suspect was arrested and lodged.
