Juniors—The tables located at the student center
Sophomores—The tables located to the RIGHT of the LCCmarquee as you face the school from theturnaround
Freshmen—The tables located to the LEFT of the LCC marqueeas you face the school from the turnaround
Back to School Night is on Thursday, September 8th
, startingat 6pm in the Maverick Gymnasium. After general announcements and receiving your student’sschedule, you will be able to meet your teachers by followingthese classroom periods:

Start Smart—Attention all student drivers! Start Smart coursesare required for all students who wish to receive an LCC parkingpermit. If you have not yet attended one of the courses, pleaseplan on attending one of the following courses with your parentor guardian:

Maverick Academic Boosters (MAC) Barnes & Noble Fundraiser Sept. 9thThe annual Barnes & Noble Book Fair to support Maverick Academic Boosterswill be held Friday, September 9, 2011 from 9am-10pm at the Barnes & Noblein the Encinitas Town Center (1040 N. El Camino Real). Proceeds will benefitthe LCCHS English Department. Families will be able to purchase requiredreading titles for LCC students, and 10%-20% of every dollar spent will comeback to the school. Any shopping done by LCC families that night will help withfundraising if you use the school’s ID number at the checkout: LCC’s Book

MAVS in the NEWS To read about LCC senior, Kendyl Stewart’s quest to make the US OlympicSwim Team, go to this link at the North County Times.
This summer, members of the LCC cross country team joined forces withmembers of the LCC swim team to compete in the Sri Chinmoy Biathlon. The
event is a one-mile swim from La Jolla Cove to La Jolla Shores followed by a10K run at the Shores. All five MAVS who entered were winners in the followingraces: Kelly Lawson, senior (winner 19 and under); Brenton Bender, soph. &Liam McCloskey, fresh. (winners in Men’s Relay); and, Madeline Uebelhor,soph. & Ryan Hershey (mixed relay winners). As is the tradition of this event,each winner was awarded a fruit basket and a pie in lieu of trophies.
Congratulations to LCC junior, Adam Friederichsen on being named “MostOutstanding Junior Quarterback” at the University of Oregon Football Campthis summer.
LCCHS looks ahead to another year of success from its athletic teams—many of whose members have been recognized this summer in events ranging from
sports camps to national competitions.
