Disney's AliceWith a global gross of roughly $300 million, Alice Through the Looking Glass came up roughly $700 million in ticket sales short of its predecessor the biggest pure dollar decline for a sequel ever.Image source: Disney.

Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesViacom's 2014 Turtles reboot grossed roughly $424 million, but this year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows managed less than $250 million in its theatrical run. Image source:Viacom.


With a production budget of $135 million, Out of the Shadows will fall short of recouping costs and likely kill off this big screen version of the Turtles.
