containment or equipment damage is

particularly critical given the outage

and capital costs, and the escalation

consequences o loss o containment.

There is no standard denition o

process saety in the industry. Xodus

sees process saety as being all o the

elements o a process plant aimed at

avoiding adverse deviations that could

create equipment damage or loss o

containment. We consider process saety

to be a key element o the ault tree side

o bow tie analysis.
