Section 9 SANITARY WARES

9.1 STANDARDS OF CONSTRUCTION

Refer to Clause 1.1.1 of section 1- preliminaries, which applies to this section. All materials and

workmanship shall comply with design requirements

9.2 NON-CONFORMANCE WITH STANDARDS

Refer to clause 1.1.2 of section 1- preliminaries, which applies to this section.

9.3 REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE

9.3.1 Inspection of the work

The Contractor shall demonstrate that he has checked the installed work before notifying

Engineer to inspect. The method of checking shall be to Engineers satisfaction.

Comply with Engineers inspections to meet requirements for acceptance at the following stages;

a. Approval of items at delivery inspections

b. Approval workmanship at in-process inspections

9.3.2 Sample room

The Engineer will nominate one room at the project that shall be used to establish the samples for

the sanitary wares. Engineers acceptance of the samples will be the standard on which

subsequent materials and installation is based.

9.3.3 Hand-over documents

Refer to clause 1.1.3 of section 1- preliminaries, which applies to this section. Submit documents

required by The Relevant Authorities in Vietnamese language, and documents required by

Engineer in English language.

9.4 MATERIALS

9.4.1 The Engineer has based certain of his sanitary wares at the supply unit rates stated

hereinbelow. The contractor shall submit sufficient samples of the various sanitary

wares for the Engineers approval. In the event that the contractors samples are

rejected, at the sole discretion of the Engineer, the Engineer reserves the right to select

the sanitary wares from his sources at the supply unit rates as stated hereinbelow.

Contractor shall then purchase the said sanitary wares for their construction works.

Contractor shall be deemed to have applied the same supply unit rates as hereinbelow

stated (and the quantities involved in this project) in his tender sum and there shall be

no variation to the Contract and no additional cost shall be payable to the Contractor.

Contractor shall note that the supply unit prices stated are nett and that he shall allow

for all damages, breakage, pilferage, wastages, suppliers payment terms and delivery

terms and all other costs involved which the contractor deems appropriate, in his

tender sum and there shall be no variation to the contract and no additional cost shallbe payable to the contractor. Contractor shall price accordingly. Only if there is a

difference between the actual nett supply price (i.e. after all discounts etc) and the

supply unit price stated hereinbelow, the nett difference shall be a variation addition or

omission to the contract sum as the case may be and the contract sum shall be adjusted

accordingly.

Contractor shall be fully aware that he shall include the installation of the sanitary

wares in his tender sum.

9.4.2 For sanitary wares not stated above but shown in the drawings or indicated elsewhere

in the tender/contract documents, Contractor shall be deemed to have priced for those

sanitary wares in his tender /contract sum. Contractor shall carefully study the contract

documents and drawings and price accordingly.

9.5 FINAL INSPECTION AND HAND-OVER

When the sanitary wares installation is completed and has been agreed to be handed over, the

Contractor shall, at the time of the joint inspection, submit to Engineer the following documents,

certificates, and records of the Works completed;

a. Copy of approved shop drawings and samples of full-scale assemblies

b. Copy of in-progress inspection records

c. Copy of suppliers warranty for the sanitary wares

d. Copy of non-conformances and approved corrective action
