19TH SUNDAY IN

ORDINARY TIME

“He said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water

toward Jesus.” (Matthew 14:29)

When you hear Jesus calling, do you respond immediately and trust that He knows what He’s doing?

If so, you are walking on water! When we say “yes” to Jesus, we feel the power of His presence in our

lives. We can feel the freedom it gives us! Listen to how Jesus is calling you to live the extraordinary

life He has intended for you.

Peace Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace:

Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal

life. AMEN.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs,

mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn then O most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy toward us. And after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet

Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the

promises of Christ. ♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins Save us from the fires of hell

Lead all souls to heaven Especially those most in need of thy mercy.

Recovering Together: Collection for Development and Peace – Caritas Canada The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting us all in multiple ways. As we begin to recover here in Canada, those in the Global South are experiencing the worst of its impacts. The most vulnerable of our human family are increasingly at risk of poverty, hunger, conflict and human rights violations. On August 29-30th, parishes are invited to hold a special collection for Development and Peace – Caritas Canada to help communities in the Global South cope with the devastating impacts of the pandemic and help them recover. Let us not forget our sisters and brothers in the Global South, who more than ever, need our support and solidarity. You can watch this video to learn more about the actions of Development and Peace in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. If you are unable to attend Mass, you can give in the following ways: • Online at www.devp.org• By phone at 1 888 234-8533 • By sending a cheque made out to Development and Peace to 1425 René-

Regina Catholic School’s Ukrainian ProgramThis year the Ukrainian Program will have a different delivery model. Students will not be transported during school hours due to guidelines set out by the Chief Medical Officer and Regina Catholic Schools. The program will have a two-pronged approach, online instruction and information as well as face-to-face instruction. The program will run on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at St. Matthew. Parents can bring their students on either of those dates when it works best for their schedule. The student’s health and safety is paramount to us and all sanitization protocols set out by the Chief Medical Officer and Regina Catholic Schools will be followed to the letter. We are looking for your commitment to this new delivery model so that Ukrainian Program can continue during this time of uncertainty. Please contact Susan Kohuch at [email protected] or 306-530-5786 if you are interested or would like more information about the program. We look forward to seeing your children in the fall and the continuation of the Ukrainian Program. Stay safe and have a wonderful summer.

Weekday and Sunday Masses Through the Summer the English Mass will be Livestreamed from Resurrection

Parish, and Christ the King Parish, Regina at 9:00 AM daily. French Mass will be Livestreamed from St. Jean Baptiste every 2 weeks,

August Stewardship Bulletin Bits

August 2, 2020 - 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time“Jesus said to them,‘There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves’.” (Matthew 14:16)This is what Jesus said right before he fed the five thousand men. How often do we really place our trust in Jesus when the situation looks grim? With Jesus, no gift is too small or insignificant when offered with love. But, we have to do our part. We should trust that Jesus will provide all that we need. We need to believe that Jesus has a better plan in store for us.August 9, 2020 - 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time“He said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.” (Matthew 14:29)When you hear Jesus calling, do you respond immediately and trust that He knows what He’s doing? If so, you are walking on water! When we say “yes” to Jesus, we feel the power of His presence in our lives. We can feel the freedom it gives us! Listen to how Jesus is calling you to live the extraordinary life He has intended for you.August 16, 2020 - 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time“For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.” (Romans 11:29)God has a special mission in mind for each of us. He has given us the gifts we need to accomplish that mission. We are called to be good stewards by using those gifts to do the work that He has planned for each of us. If we deny our gifts or fail to use them as God calls us to use them, then some part of His work will be left undone.August 23, 2020 - 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time“Or who has given the Lord anything that he may be repaid?” (Romans 11:35)St. Paul reminds us of a central fact of stewardship. We cannot give the Lord anything - God already owns it all. God made everything. All we can do is return a portion of God’s many gifts back to Him. Sincere gratitude for our gifts opens our hearts to joyful generosity! Through your generous sharing, you just may be the answer to someone’s prayer.August 30, 2020 - 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time“What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” (Matthew 16:26)St. Francis of Assisi once said, “Remember, you are what you are in the eyes of God, and nothing else.” We often forget this stewardship wisdom when we spend all of our time, talent, and treasure to gain more of the world’s riches. We need to set our priorities based on God’s values and not the values of the material world.
