• ββββ-anhydrite = Insoluble anhydrite, rehydrate very slow no setting properties


Setting of Plaster• Hemihydrate powder is mixed with water

to homogeneous paste. For mould making, a typical plaster-water mixture would contain 78-90 parts by weight of water to 100 parts of plaster

• Because of porous set of plaster, the small channels connecting the pore take up water by capillary action


Dehydration and Rehydration

• Dehydration:

CaSO4.2 H2O –heat-> CaSO4.1/2H2O + 3/2 H2O

Thermal analysis

• Gypsum ให endothermic peak ที่ 130-160°c (CaSO4.1/2H2O) →absorb water, pore water, surface water(ออกไป) และที่ 203°c (CaSO4 → crystal lattice water ออกไป จะเปน phase ของ γ-anhydrite) และจะเกิด exothermic peak ที่ 220-360°c(γ-anhydrite→ β-anhydrite)• β-HH เกิด endothermic peak ที่ประมาณ 200°c จะมีลักษณะเปน broad peak และ exothermic peak ที่ประมาณ 260°c• α-HH เกิด endothermic peak ที่ประมาณ 200°c จะมีลักษณะเปน sharp peak และ exothermic peak ที่ประมาณ 220°c

• Mould-making: 70-80 parts by weight of water to 100 parts of plaster• Exothermic reaction (มกีารขยาย 0.2-0.3% linear)

โดยทั่วไปขบวนการทํา Plaster mould สําหรับ Jiggering หรือ Casting จะเปนขั้นตอนดังนี้

• Original model ทําจากวัสดุตางๆ เชน Plaster, Clay, Wood, Wax หรือ Metal ซึ่งจะเปนแบบที่เราตองการ

• Block mould จะถกูหลอจากแบบ (model) ออกมาโดยจะไดแบบที่ออกมาตรงกับ model

• Case mould เปน mould ที่ทํามาจาก plaster ที่หลอไดจาก Block mould ที่สามารถแยกออกไดเปนสวนๆ

• Working mould เหมอืน Block mould แตหลอออกมาจาก Case mould
